Charley's
"Tails"
(As
Told By Charley From The Rainbow
Bridge)
Yessir, that's
me there, thinking I've got everything
covered! Hi! I'm Charley and I left this earthly world
on July 11, 1985. I was just 13 years old. You see, I
started this whole Dachshund "adoption" thing with
my human Mom and Dad . . . I was their first dog as
a married couple. Those two little rascals you see on
the left are their 3rd and 4th Dachshunds. Just after
me was beautiful Samantha. She's here with me now.

"Lady
Samantha Kasmira Renée"
7.11.1985 ~ 11.4.1990
(Above photo available in Counted Cross-Stitch pattern. Free!)
You may click on Samantha's picture to read her story and see
more pictures of her. She was only with my humans for 5 years.

This is me,
Charley, as a kid.
Do you see
that ear? My humans were worried it would
stay that way forever. They didn't get it, did they? My ear
stuck up that way for a few months to let them know I was
really, really listening. Ho Hum. They just didn't get it! Oh,
by the way, my humans live in Minneapolis, Minnesota
and that is why the white stuff. Why I chose that area I
really couldn't say. Whew! It really got cold on my pads.
My humans
could certainly get silly sometimes. They
didn't even get me my own sunglasses! I had to wear
my Dad's as you can see by the picture above. Cute!
When I came to
their home to live I had to endure the
presence of . . . are you ready for this? C A T S !!!!!

"Herbie" was a girl. (odd humans :- )
Alright! Would
you ever see a dog doing such
a thing? That cat's on the refrigerator! His name
was Nickie. (not that dogs wouldn't mind checking
out the tops of tall things, like tables with food! )

There was also
another nice dog in the house.
He was Pete No.1 and even though he was a
Terripoo, he was fun to be around. When my
human Mom was sick with pain in her tummy
this guy would lay beside her for hours and he
always managed to place his paw on the most
painful spot. He held it there. She began to call
him a "Healer Dog". She was right, you know!

The Present Dachshunds
