Welcome To My Home!

My name, Apuuli, comes from the Batooro of Western Uganda. It is a pet-name used in greeting. I am told it means "a young man." It was given to me when I was a Peace Corps volunteer. I was in Uganda from July 1991-July 1993 and it completely changed my life.

Since returning home from Uganda, I have set my life on a course to return to Africa. I am pursuing a second Masters degree in African Studies at UCLA. I am interested in the U.S. Foreign Service or possibly working with an organization like USAID (United States Agency for International Development), World Bank, IMF, United Nations, or similar organizations.

My interest in philosophy includes studies in both Eastern and Western Philosophy and Religions. In particular, I am interested in Taoism. I am also working on a book called "The Relativity of Being: Reflections of a Lonely Soul".

Business: JOROBI Enterprises, Ltd (U) is a company jointly owned with my Ugandan counterpart, Robert Nabanyumya. We are generally interested in enterprises that will promote Uganda and the development of Uganda's people. We are looking into education at all levels, export industries, and private Ugandan Investment in general.
