ALAN RICKMAN
Alan Rickman - Renaissance Man in Modern Times
He acts. He writes. He directs. He helps edit Academy-Award winning films. He is known to have strong political views, and though he "does not suffer fools gladly", he is also charming and gracious in person. It is rumored that he likes chocolates, but uses discipline to prevent spreading his assets.
If you want to get into a long debate, just mention to one of his admirers the fact that he did NOT get to play the Comte de Valmont in the screen version of Les Liasons Dangeruses. Especially if that person has seen the video clip of the letter-writing scene from the play. There are simply no words adequate to describe the nuances of the scene; the broad innuendo married to the implication, and climaxed by a double entendre calculated to bring down the house.

Updated 1/2/98. With a little help from my friends, who are much more webpage-literate, this page will improve. (Thanks to G.H., KC, GC, RR, RR, LK, and others for their help, past, present and future.)
