Creativity
It is almost as if you
were frantically constructing another world while the world that
you live in dissolves beneath your feet, and that your survival
depends on completing this construction at least one second before
the old habitation collapses.

This site is dedicated to the purpose of
sharing. Over the years I
have found beautiful patterns. Some of them are still available,
but
some of them can no longer be found. For the patterns that are still
around, there will be the source listed and, if possible.
Every effort has been made to keep the upload time to
a minimum
by keeping graphics as small as possible and by putting only a few
on each page. All of the graphics are from crochet work I have
done over the past 25 years. This is more than a "show and
tell"
Web site. :- ) It is my hope that you will find something you love
and I can point you to the source of the pattern.
My deepest thanks to Annie Potter of "Annie's
Attic." She designs very beautiful patterns! It is my understanding she began creating her
own crochet patterns at the age of 8. Further, her patterns are
the most accurate I have ever used -- hardly ever a mistake (you long time crochet people know exactly what I'm talking about!).
Please enjoy your visit, help yourself to background
graphics, and
enjoy the wonderful musical talents of Sal Grippaldi. Sal is a
very
kind, sharing person and my life online would be pretty empty
without his midis! If you "borrow" any of his midis,
please send
Sal (also known as Redsal)
an e-mail. All music on this site is
exclusively Redsal's and used with his permission.
My name is Jan. I am hooked on
crochet... as you will see! :- )
Everything pictured here was crocheted by me or is being crocheted by
me. (Exception: Marsha Moore has
graciously agreed to allow her wonderful original design for a baby
afghan to be posted on Crochet Cabriolet. It's beautiful!
And the crochet work pictured is hers. Thank you, Marsha!) This
site is by nature graphic intensive. All pages have been
thoroughly tested. All graphics are correctly online. If you
have any difficulty during peak usage time remember to use
your "Refresh"
button. |

cabriolet -- a light two-wheeled
carriage,
usually with a hood that folds, drawn by
one horse -- Webster's dictionary
(only later was it used to name models of automobiles) |

crochet
. . . construction of fabric by
interlocking loops of thread or yarn using a hook. The chain
stitch is used to cast on a foundation chain of the desired
length, into which successive rows of stitches are worked. All
stitches and patterns derive from single and double crochet. Like
knitting, crochet produces a fabric that stretches. When a fine
hook and thread are used, crochet can be used to produce a form of
lace. -- Encyclopedia definition |
