I added these question-driven pages to the web in faith that more people might better see, understand, and utilize opportunities to jump in and make things better when we can. That is what I consider the heart of applied political psychology (Poly-Psy), since I'm primarily into self-application - particularly the self application of, by, and for citizens. As regards the much-too-real trauma-drama of current politics, I figure our basic choices are
a) we can focus on what we have done b) we can focus on what we could have done,
c) we can focus on what is done,
d) we can focus on what we CAN DO from here.
e) we can focus on anything but any of the above.
For all of those foci, save the last - whether we see politically, socially, or psychologically - there are pages and/or sections at this site. As far as the steps that we can take (those covered or referenced here) - it is mostly about what many average individuals CAN DO - taking small but steady steps for sustainable global health - if only spending 5 minutes a week by each citizen (add 2 minutes to make-up for those who persist in feeling absolutely hopeless about most everything) - and then we could accomplish what?
ANYTHING, Baby!!! :-)
I recognize that we are challenged, yet I believe in our capacity to learn -- especially to learn to persist in learning. Because, if we can do that -- and if God intended for us to evolve on this planet to the point of success of humans actually getting along with each other (while still in human body form) -- then it will be done through persisting in learning how to do that.
You'll find well-backed facts and information resource links here, and means of action/activism of all degrees of involvement, as well as my own editorial commentary and suggestions for personal and/or community healing on various levels. And here and there you'll find my "PolyPsyArt" - my attempts at effective messaging through posters, charts, and other desktop publishing.
This site is not always up to date, but I trust that through the resources provided, you can find updated information and resources for letters and petitions to sign, protests and rallies to go to, and as much else as you have time for - including how not to burn out.
There is A LOT at this site. There are plenty of section links to help you navigate these very long pages (I do them by hand, ok? And some day, I promise, I'll make a million regular sized pages out them. Ok, maybe not a million...). But I've heard it's very easy to get too spread out and scattered here, so be careful of the links taking you too far too often [Suggestion: grab the scroll bar, brief the whole page, note the sections and links that stand out for you, then come back and read those - and then hop a link when ready, knowing your browser's *Back* button is at hand).
As for this page, I try not to make it too stiff for a grin now and then [Ok, I can even be a tad cruel-witted on those who tend to be cruel to millions of people - hoping Karma will be kind].
One of my goals is the effective presentation of the questions and considerations. I appreciate your feedback towards helping me achieve/further that goal - via PolyPsyArt@iinet.com.
Thank you,

NAMASKARA ("I salute the divinity within you") And I honor our capacity to rock and roll with life, to see and utilize the opportunities that exist to make things better when we can.
Recovering Democracy at the Crossroads - Political Activism, Apathy, & Healing" (on a separate page) Introducing a study in current “Poly-Psy” with three graphic flow charts and discussion points, including: ¤ strategy for the healing & preventative maintenance necessary for our creating & sustaining a working democracy ¤ cause and effect patterns related to conscious choices for change toward sustainable living on the planet (a long term project). ¤ Relationships in "Beliefs, Paths, & Service" with a chart that visually relates various philosophical origins, coping styles, roles in active citizenry... Overall, this page provide a good intro to the (below linked) "OverComing Political Disillusionment" outline/study.
What could be accomplished if more than 40% of Americans felt empowered enough to Vote? Would we create a government that actually represented our highest values? "OverComing Political Disillusionment" (on a separate page) Provides an OUTLINE FOR STUDY of UNDERLYING PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS related to: ¤ current political challenges effecting American citizens and our changing government ¤ the basis of democratic participation & the power to make a difference for the world ¤ attitudes, beliefs, and resulting momentums that contradict our self-stated values while pushing us dangerously deeper into denial
"Questions for Healing Disillusionment" (on a separate page) has Selected Questions for Consideration regarding how effectively we use the democratic process, or let totalitarian forces rise to destroy it. Includes "Questions for Personal Empowerment," "Development of One Questioning Mind," and "Preventing/Overcoming Burnout for Activists" (a suggested class outline).
How is it the Neo-Con artists get away with such "obvious" games & whoppers? Machiavengelicals Exposed explains the Machiavellian Use of Evangelical fervor - for World Corporatocracy Not Democracy - Exposed with PolyPsyArt, references and links.
Why are so many citizens in denial of our current political directions ? "Messages" (on a separate page) is a look at the basic communications going back and forth between the Bush Administration and the citizens. By message, I mean that which is actually communicated, regardless of the words or language used - on whatever level(s), directly and indirectly, consciously and unconsciously.

"A democracy exists only when knowledge, pure without influence of power, can exert its force on government and upon a free and knowledgable public, by men responsible to that public. Knowledge does not now have democratic relevance in America." -- Charles W. Mills
It's true: rarely more than 40% of U.S. citizens vote in major elections. Can you imagine what might be accomplished by five minutes a week spent by every citizen in communicating with their representatives? Some say it would be dangerous for *all* people to be active and voting, that we're not capable of making intelligent choices as a truly democratically participative society. I'm with those that recognize that we've always learned by our mistakes. How else would we actually evolve into an intelligent society over time? I believe that some people don't want us to evolve - thus allowing them to make all our decisions for us, and often for very selfish reasons.
I would like to thank you for considering the notes and resources here, and my awareness raising habit as a practical way to honor our capacity to rock and roll with life. Please do not use the more critical parts as a means of further disillusionment, but as opportunities to explore some of our challenges. EG: I do my political rabble-rousing so that we might better see and UTILIZE opportunities to jump in and make things better when we can. And I do it to help people recognize where the real power is -[eg: I believe IT/S/HE is within each of us - as channels of God's Love and Light - connecting with others consciously aware of doing/being the same] - and to realize that it takes all of us, to put this to the best and highest use FOR all of us. [And That's as esoteric as it gets on this page. :-) ]
Survival mentality to the point of promoting economic warfare (while calling it "healthy competition"), coupled with free-wielding of "pre-emptive" power (while calling it "defense of freedom"), does not a world leader make. We are a society of great influence, and we are capable of fostering much higher values... Maybe if we were to ask questions that lead us to ask why we believe what we believe, we would clarify applicable truth(s) from dogma. So long as so many of us act like sheep (and I was once one of those "sheople"), the wolves will be happy to lead us. Nazi Germany could not have happened were it not for the sheople. Besides, even a wolf pack has great family values - but it's still a wolf pack. There's a bumpersticker: "If Hitler were president, would you recognize him?"
I have come to have a certain understanding of how our political system operates - that is, it operates through our belief systems. I didn't say on faith; this is not about just the monetary system. I'm talking about four basic windows that American citizens look through at our socio-political ways and means. Only a few years ago did I begin to realize -- and appreciate somewhat -- how unusual this view might be. I guess for so many years I had never clearly spelled it out even to myself [before 9/'98] - as it is below in "The Four Governments". Unusual? Well, I am a former marine, yet one that for more than 18 years has been creating body-mind integrative tools for self-healing out of blending gestalt psychology with therapeutic bodywork. As a therapist that attempts to see the hows and whys of world events, both in science and activism, I will be emphasizing 'perception' and 'FOCUS' in the coming paragraphs.
How did I "convert" from a student of war as an adolescent, later a US Marine, to a student of cooperation, non-violent problem solving, and conscious preventative health maintenance (for individuals, then society)? I don't know if my telling this story will help anyone else make such a transition (now where's that sign up pad...), but I'm going to share here some of what led me to question authority, to hold signs with others or alone, to live simply and forego utilizing my talents and resources for those employers who would pay generously to have me trade in my values to work for them. I don't ask any reader to quit a career over this. But I might ask the reader to question and weigh what kinds of things might work best for all concerned. And then I might ask the reader to find his/her best individual place in society and the most optimal way to contribute, given one's own talents, capabilities, and resources. I appreciate you for simply visiting these pages.
Personal Background and Transition as related to Political Disillusionment and Recovery:
"Our leaders wouldn't be in those offices if they didn't know what they were doing," I said in high school. But that was during the late sixties in Tulsa, Oklahoma, not long before enlisting in the service (1970) --"to save America from the 'Commies'." My oldest brother, Tony, a practitioner of the old male-bonding technique of "shock therapy," began the arduous task of dissuading me from my incredibly naive perceptions not long after I joined the service.
I'm not sure if my brother didn't know what a challenge that would be. As a teenager I had enjoyed the study military history, battle strategies, the intelligence services (plus every James Bond novel - no kidding! ;), and the Russian language (yep, straight A's). Before all that I had built models of most every WWII era fighter and bomber, and was the best stunt man on the block. That is, when "playing army" I could fall 'dead' from the top of my porch, and roll down our concrete steps to the sidewalk. You'd think that would've woke me up, but no, this kid was tough. And I always said then that I didn't want to "take the easy way out." Can you imagine what I entertained for future careers?
Brother Tony did have to work on me some -- I could be incredibly skeptical when it came to maintaining my protective blinders. But, as the black sheep of the family (the topic of which he only touched on then), he had lost his rose-colored glasses many years before. His hard knocks had come early in life both literal and otherwise, with his tour as an AP (an MP but in the Air Force), even though his "authority issues" were established early on. He had also been a student of history and remains avidly so to this day. Later, he was a labor union leader, an officer in California's CIO, and by the end of the Sixties he had worked with some very interesting folks (the extent of either of which activities, I only learned many years later). With a great sense of humor, hard earned to survive his sobering experiences, Tony had pretty much succeeded in denting my thick armor of political naivete. Granted, to accomplish this, it took him practically until I was ending my four-year tour - now as a sergeant in the Marine Corps. And I decided more definitely to go on to college - in spite of persistent would-be tantalizing offers to "re-up," including the increasing monetary bonus offers (initially 10K), that Russian language training that I requested when I joined, and of course a promotion to staff sergeant).
Tony's denting of my well-honed armour fit right in with my informal studies in psychology and conscious awareness. I had also begun that just prior to my last year of service (early 1973), when I was still at Nam Phong Marine Corps Air Station in Thailand. Maybe it was the Thailand tour - where I'd been initiated to some of the strongest herbal therapy in the world at that time - that initiated the break-down of some of those previously 'intransible' barriers in my mind. Apparently I had begun to put two and two together in a more wholistic context, to question why many things were juxtaposed and begin to realize that this questioning may be very important...
*
Not that I (even with my apprenticeship & 3 years of study in herbology & nutrition) would recommend such 'herbal therapy' without the advice or attendance of a therapist or shaman, but sometimes a wholly new perspective on life really helps to put things in context.
But in any case, at my patient mentor's highest recommendation, I read THE POWER ELITE by Charles W. Mills during my first year of college. To round out my re-education through my college years ('74-'79) I learned a little from subscriptions to political magazines and organization memberships (ok, a lot :-) including political reformist, energy conservationist, and environmentalist -- all leftist more or less, but socially responsible, and therefore suitable for any good budding therapist type ;-). And it's been folks of this level of intellect that have kept me informed ever since and not the newspapers providing the eighth grade comprehension level (and I include links to a selection of these organizations later down the page.
Such subjects were immensely more interesting than the general subject material of the first two years or more of college. But political science as taught there seemed incredibly boring and its practice in the world appeared most discouraging. Ralph Waldo Emerson ("Laws were made for people who can't think for themselves.") did leave a political impression on me however. Even on more mundane levels, I have wondered what basic awareness might be generated by replacing most/all 'Stop' signs with 'Yield' signs -- not to mention savings in fuel and brake maintenance. In fact, I was impressed as much by broad-context philosophy as much as by purely political statements - that is, either one had political relevance as well as spiritual relevance to me.
I'm not sure if it was Mill's book, the philosophy, or the more pragmatic news from the political activist groups that finally topped off my internal conflict, but I found that I needed to reconcile my past participation in the Viet Nam War with newer realizations about it's actual causes, and thence about the hypocrisy and waste of the war. It was a rough time for me psychologically... now I knew I had to find a new path in life. That came with a class I took in the Fall of '78... While the class was offered through the Geography curriculum at O.U., it was much more about biology, sociology, and environmental science. We studied the most critical biological interdependence that interconnects every living organism, and I truly mean in very nuts and bolts relationships, as if all organisms and connections were one living matrix throughout the planet (or Gaia). Thus Earth would truly seem to be our *Mother*, as the Native Americans have tried (in vain?) to teach us.
We learned that we only had about 30 years before we could begin to make definite changes related to our environment or else give up any hope of sustaining life on the planet. [Note: 25 years later now, we are behind schedule and fighting hard to maintain what gains we've made.] All this hit me very very deeply, as it dawned on me it's contrast with the overall political situation on the planet. I didn't know what my place was in this, but in this first spiritual-to-pragmatic epiphany, I began to feel this held some purpose for my life. And when I heard of the protest going on around Black Fox Nuclear Station at Inola, in NE Oklahoma, I knew I had to help out. I definitely did some growing up in the four or so years of activist work after college.
At the end of this time I came upon (and was inspired to write down) "The Seven Laws of Change." This had to do with what I decided then were the key elements to change. These laws are actually about personal change, as a prerequisite to any larger scale change. But gee, what's that got to do with this? ;-) The 7 Laws are about education in the face of resistance - in the face of human ego, that is. Can we change the planet? Are we supposed to? Is this a job that God will accomplish through assisting us, if/when we are willing and pliable to His/Her Will, to do it ourselves, as His/Her hands on the planet? Or are we to simply wait and let God and "The Rapture" experience do it 'to' us? (Implying we allow Christian extremists to encourage Armageddon to happen so "Jesus will save us.") Do you think a wise spiritual master such as Jesus would believe that rescuing us is how we would learn anything? Or is the quality of our spiritual learning only a wee matter to God? (ok, I won't hold you in suspense - I have a big feeling the answer to that is no.)
It would seem to me that lately (2002-03) someone is trying to convince us (via the Rapture angle) that Jesus needs to rescue us -- because he doesn't believe in our ability to learn and grow by exercising Free Will, and that we can't learn to become responsible to choose our own directions, even by the hard way. Do you know what psychologists say about such a "rescuer" ? A rescuer is one of three roles that compose the (pathological) martyr personality -- along with the roles of victim and persecutor. And I have a most difficult time trusting someone, especially a self-proclaimed Christian, who would call Jesus a pathological martyr. I have an even more difficult time trusting someone who would "train" or condition others in his charge to be rescued - by a policy that is obviously designed to either bring on such an Armageddon or actually accomplish the ideal end of imperialism - world conquest.
A more direct story about how I began to question authority "The Development of One Questioning Mind" (on a another page at this site) became my pre-sentencing statement which I read for the judge at the trial of the "Seattle 12."

The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descent on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.
From the center where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the center which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out.
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
The current political mess told me that many people today are as naive about as many things as I was. Reading the media on the other hand (more than just between the lines), requires skepticism like never before - even persistent research - but can go a long way. In the end, I trust the Love and Will of God to prevail (that we learn what that is and give over our own will (ego) to that, to I AM THAT I AM, THAT IS.) In the meantime 'the little will of men' (referring in part to "The Great Invocation" above) offer opportunities for the growth of our souls.

Getting Real about "Conspiracies"
(and the belief system of the power elite) [Please note: the below was true BEFORE the "Project for A New American Century" (PNAC) (don't go there just yet...) got voted in November 2000. After that we're not talking about conspiracy so much as a PLAN. And these boys of the PNAC gallery, who already sell most of the armaments of war on the planet (as well as the oil), are now making nail-bitters of the rest of the power elite (which the below section is still about), since the PNAC gallery is now in charge of the most powerful Armed forces on the planet - I pronounce that "Pee'nac gallery," because the designers are actually nerd-types, only promoting a "Darth Vadar" approach, with the "machievangelical" (or machiavengelical) one-two punch of Karl Rove, the likes of which we have not seen for centuries. (Hint: what do you get when you gene-splice Machiavelli and Rasputin?). More on that (and plenty of support links) in the 911/Iraq War section (...not yet ;)]
At this point you might want to copy these 1st two paragraphs, put it in an email and send it to yourself (so you can continue on here AND get the valuable understanding offered in: "The Origins of the Neo-Conservative Mind - a Political Comparative Analysis by Alan Wolfe." Professor Alan Wolfe uses fascist philosopher Carl Schmitt to help us understand contemporary politics & the eerie relevance to the current moment in American history. Article available at http://www.chalicebridge.com/Neo-ConMind-Origins.html. (Right now you are at http://www.chalicebridge.com/PoliticalPage.html#Conspiracy)
The "Power Elite", like other groups, have their cultural belief systems apart from other cultures, and they see the relationship between themselves & "the masses" as one of parents & children -- and they feel fine about not telling us all they know, do, are, plan, and about telling us what, when & how they see fit. So its not so much a conspiracy as it is a shared perspective out of which they operate. In fact, they may not even need to actually meet to act in unity on various issues and related ventures - it would simply be taken for granted. The various members, clubs, and communities among them may congregate, discuss, and make agreements on strategies and things that concern them. Regular folk concern them, but only because it usually takes the rest of us to actually do their work, or to make sacrifices - or sometimes to be sacrificed, especially if one lives in a 3rd world country. Hence, we shouldn't really take it personal - it's just business. Well, that wasn't really meant to be comforting.
[ The 2nd part of this essay provides some suggestions for handling conspiracy theories. ]
I.E.: Maintaining what keeps them in power concerns them. There are differences in philosophy and many other perspectives among them, and they certainly compete (merger-mania and monopoly games notwithstanding) but they do not appreciate threats to their positions in those communities and they will defend each other in that regard, priorities considered. And their main priority is power. (But you might say, "But what about Enron -- didn't they come down on that? Yes, like a feather - you may want to check out the link about Enron at 9/11 Mid-East Crisis - after you finish this page :-)
I do not believe the power elite are "out to get us." I do believe that many of them are very attached to their addictions (power and money, which addictions happen to be) fed by our addictions (most of which add up, or cause us) to avoid & deny our responsibilities. And some of the power elite will be quite aggressive in staying fed that way {as the tobacco industry proved, and as the new international laws of the World Trade Organization would strongly indicate). The more conservative ("old money") among them keep the "bigger picture" in mind, and their plans may allow for the sacrifice of the health, or even lives, of thousands or millions of people. But, in their view, this would be only for what they consider the greater good.
Who are they? Well, in its Elite Conference Guide of Christmas 1987, the Economist described Bilderberg as 'Ne plus ultra' or 'the top of the top.' The Bilderberg office in Leiden, Holland may issue a 'press release' for it's meetings, but only a few hours after the last participant has left the meeting area. There are a various and theories about the Trilateral Commission, often contradictory, especially as to why various members may belong. The World Trade Organization (W.T.O.) or the European Round Table of Industrialists (E.R.T.) would seem to be at some steps down from this level of power, usually having publicized meetings, yet often including some members of the elite in their conferences. But naming or locating them is not what this essay is concerned with. How their minds and hearts create and allow all that they are and do - that is much more interesting to me.
Also among the power elite are those that are quite philanthropic leaders, and those that play the political field for a time. There are those that utilize the "revolving door policy" to move from the military, to the corporate, to the government regulatory, and so on. Conflict of interest? From their point of view that is strictly a legal matter for their pawns to contend with - if anyone is successful in getting such a matter to court or before congress. Some have the attitude of a protective father, others are like a benign tyrant, others are not nearly so thoughtful of our future, and so on.
There are those that participate with others of their status in spiritual or mystical organizations, as well as those in fundamentalist ones, etc. All this does not change the relevance of those power elite that play the power games with others lives via our elected representatives, and use other means of getting around the rules that everyone else play by. But remember, even the best hypnotists have to find participants that are willing to play along - at least subconsciously. So, maybe we have some mixed feelings we'd like to clarify (lest those subconscious desires for their approval, or fear of their disapproval, lead us to ...)?
In summary, members of the power elite are a mixed bag - sort of. Some act like no more than legitimate "gentlemen" Mafia, taking only a penny a day from each of us (at the point of a lie, instead of a gun. Ever try to add that up? They say it definitely beats robbing banks ;) Reclaim Democracy .Org details just how and also what we can do about it.) Other power elitists more often act like care takers for the less fortunate. Considering the incredibly slow response to the Global Warming, it would seem that immediate gratification is the presiding motivation. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists' latest reading (1999), we have about 70 years before what's left of us are wondering what happened, folks - like 1995 would definitely have NOT been too soon to really get with it. A more recent Global Warming report (Jan '04), not yet commented on by the UCS, closes the timeline considerably. The time for change is NOW! For an astute and illuminating parallel on Global Warming, you've got to see the "Simple Test of User Propensity for Irresponsible Decisions (STUPID)."
One could say that there are actually four main governments that operate through our political system. (Notice that the word used here is "operate" and not "work.") These four governments pervade all levels of politics and actual government function, and exist THROUGH the belief systems of citizens. However, they do not all function as we might want to believe they do. Actually, they function partly in fantasy, much of it in disguise, too often in disjunction, largely by default in lieu of citizen participation, and intermittently in mysterious (perhaps miraculous) efficiency.
The first is the government of the representative and democratic government that many of us learned to expect from those we elect - a fairy tale we would all like to believe in. Please let me clarify: There is a difference between the (functional) holding up of ideals in order to then, step by checked-upon step, create realistic priorities and goals, and the (dysfunctional) holding of ideals and then merely proceeding as if they are already realized. Obviously, the latter feels good but gets nothing done, and the former only works when the ideals are converted into something pragmatic and then implemented. On the other hand, it actually IS representative since it also represents the non-voting, the un-seeing, and the insincere that exists among us. I'll refer to it as the "Fantasy Government."
The second government is that which governs those we elect when the people are fantasizing about the first government or just too often looking elsewhere. I refer directly to the power elite, which I'll call the "Masked" government, and yes it exists and definitely functions. "It" doesn't use conspiracy necessarily -- but with various and sundry, at times conflicting, but still very highly defined sets of agendas. A currently exposed example would be the tobacco industry. It is a powerful executor of only one agenda perhaps, but the precedents being set with this special interest are part of the agendas of many other special interests, who together will take as much of our financial capacity, our health, and certainly our power as we let them.
...continued further down the page...
Another interesting set of perspectives on "conspiracies" by Carl Schmidt -- "...Attaching special significance to the specifics of the outer experience lacks the subtle nuance of a truly deeper understanding. However, certain events ... do impact the overall consciousness in significant ways, because of our reaction to these things."
The third government is the body of politicians that we have elected, and which actually carry out government functions - more or less. I don't feel I need to say much about this the "Elected government," since it is what generates and fills most of our political media nowadays. The confusion that we experience (focusing on them), as we try to figure what they are really doing, is where the "smoke and mirrors" tricks work their magic on us.
Just how much of that can you take before you get brain-dead dizzy and tuning out, if not consciously disillusioned and ticked off. And do you think this might have tended to effect one's memory after awhile -- until now as you read this, that is ? [Ok, I'm really trying to put a positive twist on this, .. Did I emphasize 'perception' or 'FOCUS' yet?]
The fourth government is the conscious awareness and action of the citizenry when it is being truly responsible, by such as insuring that we elect and maintain people of integrity in office. Just how real this government is varies. I call it the "True" government, to the degree we are motivated in being ourselves and acting cooperatively, maybe even consistently, and manifesting our highest dreams and hearts' desires. Sometimes we see it happening, too often it seems we haven't.
Responsibility is the ability to respond to need, the willingness to do so, and the acceptance of the results and implications that come from our response. - Philip Levine.
Right now the focus is on the images of the Elected since too few people know much (if any) of the reality of the Masked, too many are disillusioned from still trying to see the Fantasy, and not enough people make time to learn about and perform the duties of the True. While the Elected are generally _very_ knowledgeable about all four governments, they most enjoy the ignorance of the True (with sad but applicable irony in those words), and they thereby enjoy the rewards from the Masked. They have thus developed the double standards that citizens have been increasingly exposed to over the last three decades. But until one understands the extent and ramifications of the power elite's hold on the elected officials, we will continue to be dumb founded by the events and decisions that come from the Elected.

Barbara Lee's Alternative to War Amendment [H. Con. Res. 473 9/'02, thence H.J. Res. 114, 10/'02 and H. CON. RES. 2, 1/'03, and S.Res 32 1/'03] was offered prior to Iraq War, obviously a route we should've taken, or D.Kucinich's constant stream of alternative-loaded legislation that would have kept us in our integrity while helping our neighbors - Speaking out early on for doing more for less (in cost of Lives as well as dollars). Before the war Brent Scowcroft, the former National Security Advisor, and since the war about many other high-ranking CIA, MI-6, and diplomatic officials, all gave testimony in the video, "The Truth & Lies of 9-11" -- sponsored by MoveOn.Org, and available at www.truthuncovered.com. It's one of the most telling publications on record.
Yet the initial 9-11 investigations were largely put aside by the most despicable tactics and lame, not to mention visibly weak, excuses ('02-'03). One at least strongly supported the idea of not causing neighbors to become terrorists - on purpose. The Fall '04 revelations and the Sybil Edmonds story is finally bringing some fresh air (see just below). And then the Zogby & other polls we apparently aren't hearing much about. (a tad further below). Question: Is supporting our leadership and saving our national face more important than the thousands of lives lost and maimed? Obviously, it is to Mr. Bush, our fearful mis-leader and the wrecking crew that props him with statements. You would think the now obvious contrivance & LIES supporting the 9-11 contentions and Iraq war, not to mention the so-called connection between the two, would have awoken everyone by now (had written that in Spring '04). I have some ideas as to how the sheople have been kept... (see editorial after the "911 They Knew" and "Veterans for Peace call for Impeachment" Graphics below).
52 Warnings Ignored (data released Fall '04)
"The Bush administration has blocked the public release of the full, classified version of the [911] investigation report for more than five months, officials said, much to the frustration of former commission members who say it provides a critical understanding of the failures of the civil aviation system. The administration provided both the classified report and a declassified, 120-page version to the National Archives two weeks ago and, even with heavy redactions in some areas, the declassified version provides the firmest evidence to date about the warnings that aviation officials received concerning the threat of an attack on airliners and the failure to take steps to deter it.
"Among other things, the report says that leaders of the F.A.A. received 52 intelligence reports from their security branch that mentioned Mr. bin Laden or Al Qaeda from April to Sept. 10, 2001. That represented half of all the intelligence summaries in that time.

Cover-up of FBI Agent Sybil Edmond's Warnings
Remember the former translator for the FBI, Sybil Edmonds who said she provided information to the panel investigating the 11 September attacks which proves senior officials knew of al-Qa'ida's plans to attack the US with aircraft months before the strikes happened. With top-secret security clearance, She had charged that an F.B.I. co-worker, a fellow Turkish linguist, had blocked the translation of material involving foreign acquaintances of hers who had come under suspicion. Condolizza Rice had said the administration took steps to counter al-Qa'ida, saying in The Washington Post on 22 March, "Despite what some have suggested, we received no intelligence that terrorists were preparing to attack the homeland using airplanes as missiles, though some analysts speculated that terrorists might hijack planes to try and free US-held terrorists." Mrs Edmonds said that by using the word "we", Ms Rice told an "outrageous lie". Ms Edmondslater said: "Rice says 'we' not 'I'. That would include all people from the FBI, the CIA and DIA [Defense Intelligence Agency]. I am saying that is impossible." The investigation by the Justice Department's inspector general found that many of Ms. Edmonds's accusations were supported, that the F.B.I. did not take them seriously enough and that her allegations were, in fact, the most significant factor in the F.B.I.'s decision to terminate her services. The suit had been dismissed last year after Attorney General John Ashcroft, invoking a rarely used power, declaring her case to be a matter of 'state secret' privilege.

The ZOGBY POLL on 911
HALF OF NEW YORKERS BELIEVE GOVERNMENT COMPLICITY IN 9/11 It found 41% of New York State residents and 49.3% of New York City residents believe that some U.S. leaders “knew in advance that attacks were planned on or around September 11, 2001, and that they consciously failed to act.” Two-Thirds of New Yorkers Want 9/11 Case Re-Opened. Article at Washington Post .Com The Zogby Poll was the first scientific poll of it kind in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy. Says Nick Levis of the New York City 9/11 Truth Alliance: "This case is anything but closed." More via United for Peace More polls: 63% of Canadians on average believe that the U.S. government was involved. In European polls, two-thirds say the same thing. This includes some German defense ministers and technology ministers, known conservatives and progressives, going public. An environment minister, Michael Meacher, says that if they didn’t do it, they sure as hell knew what was going on.
Now (Spring '04) TrueMajority.Com and MoveOn.org helped insure as fair an investigation as we could - given what we have ...(ahem)... It is therefore urgent that all Americans be quiet, stop asking questions, accept the orders of authorities, and let us get on with the important work of defending liberty, so that America can continue to be a beacon of freedom to all the world." - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld

Regarding Rumsfelds, "...use the Army we Have..."
* What have the army's recruiters been telling our kids about "the army we have"? *
In direct regard to Rumsfeld's comment -- about using "the army you have, not the one you want" -- we haven't asked him about what the army's recruiters have been telling our kids - about the "army we have." And I'm talking about the kids who are now serving in Iraq, including those on their 1st or subsequent involuntary extentions, and including those who are headed for Iraq. And I am referring to the Marines and other branches of the service, as well as the Army, if I am correct in assuming Rumsfeld was. And do we think the recruiters are going to be more truthful due to Rumsfeld's comments or any fallout from complaints about armor? Do we think that "whining" among servicemen about what they were promised vrs what they got will be any more acceptable, even among the war-torn in the VA Hospitals, whose services have deteriorated due to the funds having been cut by this administration? - 12/9/04]

The Patriot Acts I & II
Inconceivable Without something like 9/11, as stated on the 911 poster above, the "Patriot Acts" are about loyalty to a would-be KING, about hegemony & empire-making, and not about loyalty to the CITIZENS, or any conscionable "Security."
Let Our Patriotism be about loyalty to the PEOPLE of America - especially to those who are intelligent and empathetic enough to recognize the strength and integrity of cooperating as World Citizens. Let our patriotism not degenerate to a kind of loyalty that encourages our senses to be dulled into blind quiescence, as if to justify the pain of others already more disadvantaged.
Sadam has always been only as powerful as we have made him (quite literally, in fact). Let's not give the Sadams and Ben Ladens more power by further aligning the MidEast against us - certainly not for the poor excuses we've offered (in spite of the efforts to manufacture better ones).
Editorial:
After reading the documents which comprise the history of our current administration, I, along with many others, come to the belief that The MidEast Conflict is far from over. In Iraq innocent people on both sides are still dying, plans and strategies exist for continued militarily enforced hegemony. What that means is that we will still have a hundred or two thousand troops there (who will have surpassed their rotation dates 3 to 5 times), we will be in charge of primary infrastructure maintenance through corporations owned or invested in by members of the White House administration, and the power list goes on. As you may see via the annotated links on the Political References Page - there are a great many highly placed people in the Pentagon, the CIA, the congress, the diplomatic corps, plus most American religious leaders, most international leaders, [ETC!] that are doing their best to convince people that, who we have in charge now not only got there illegally, but have been operating on the darkest fringe of government for over 30 years. We enjoyed their dirty work when we were convinced that our enemies deserved extreme treatment. But now they are in the White House. The truth about the sanctions imposed on Iraq, who pulled the strings as to how those sanctions were carried out, what the effects were of depleted uranium in GulfWarI and especially now on both our troops and especially the population...
As you'll understand from the below notes, all of this points to continued empire-making and co-opting of resources (beyond Iraq to say the least) -- and not at all for the purposes or even justifications that we are told. Remember, the values of the Neo-Cons are strung by single thread of "the ends justifies the means." That means they believe ANYTHING can be said or done, so long as it feeds the process of their achievement of their ends. Often all they have to do to "justify" some horrendous deed is wave the flag. But please realize they need feel no affinity to the flag, nor to the values for which it stands, in order for them to wave the flag, let alone to achieve their ends.
Therefore, I tend to backup my political material (at least at my own website) with references that are backed up with references that are.... Granted, I do tend to trust some evidence when it's only corroborated by certain individuals, but I'm talking of the likes of Congressman Jim McDermott (from the state of WA). When he says something, I tend to believe he's got his references straight, AND plenty of them. He's also a psychiatrist, not that I tend to think much of drug prescriptions vrs alternative medicine, but he seems to be quite the empathic caring individual when I've been around him - so different from the usual politician. And he's been so darned brave during all this, daring the administration to provide proof or disprove his own evidence, that one would almost have to believe him anyway.
And there is Mike Ruppert, who created the 138 minute video, "The Truth and Lies of 9-11" (which is about much more than 9-11), offers $1000 to anyone who can disprove the authenticity of any of his source materials - which, obvious from this tape, are voluminous. He is a former LAPD narcotics investigator who discovered CIA trafficking in drugs in 1977. After attempting to expose this he was forced out of LAPD in 1978 while earning the highest rating reports possible and having no pending disciplinary actions. In the wake of the September 11th attacks, Ruppert was among the first to be publicly critical of a number of transparent flaws in the official story presented by the US Government. In more than twenty stories since 9-11 he has followed his tested strategy of using only government documents, official statements or verifiable press reports as the basis for his work. As a result he has been openly received by several members of Congress and maintains open lines of communication with congressional and committee staffs. Ruppert is publisher and editor of "From The Wilderness", a newsletter read in 27 countries, by 20 members of the US Congress, professors at 12 Universities in the US and Canada and by the Intelligence committee of both houses. His website is at www.copvcia.com, phone: 818-788-8791.
In fact, based on such as the above, I believe the administration and it's backers -- those who are actually NOT pro-American, but obviously pro-world domination (as per their very own PNAC or "Project for a New American Century" - again, see those links below as needed) -- are in effect the most sophisticated Mafia on the planet.
Hence, they do not plan to stop with the Iraq conquest. Why say this? The PNAC folks ("P'NAC Gallery" ;) have an agenda to provide "security" through insuring their control of all the WMD's on the planet. I believe their best image of themselves is as protective father over their own children. (And Dubya's right-hand man, Karl Rove, knows how to work with images - and the media, by the way. [Note the book, *Bush's Brain,* by Moore Slater]) And the first phase of that is, one way or the other, to bring the entire Caspian Sea oil basin under US control. Why? Not only for the oil for US usage, but for the oil that will provide the upper hand with the Russian Mafia. Why? Because a major **unpredictable** is the Russian mafia, and their access to WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction). Having achieved control of Russia (along with control of the Middle-East), the only unpredictable left for world domination is China, it's WMD's (Weapons of Mass Destruction), and it's immense army.
Can you dig Rik Reynolds poignant creativity with "Genghis Bush" (see on left)?
Question: Was the SARS virus ever shown to be a long-term threat to the immune systems of races other than the Chinese/Asian? The reason I ask has to do with a TV documentary I saw in the Spring of 3003 - it was on the US-Russian collaboration in the neutralization (closure and destruction?) of the previous super-secret Siberian bio-chemical research facilities. They reported that their research was decades ahead of our own, including with genetic-based viral weaponry. Were they trying to tell us something?
And really, just where is our President all this time? Check out this headline: Fired Treasury secretary calls Bush disengaged in meetings. Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill, pushed out of the administration for not being a team player, says President Bush, [who was] so disengaged during Cabinet meetings that he was like a "blind man in a roomful of deaf people." - Martin Crutsinger, The Associated Press, Seattle Post Intelligencer, January 10, 2004.
This wouldn't sound so fantastic to the average American were it not for a kind of national memory shortage. I doubt there's a political science teacher alive that will disavow the "two-week memory" phenomenon, by the way. I believe this phenomenon has developed in large part due to a very strong need to believe in our 'good guy' image of ourselves - certainly more than we want to acknowledge our attachment to our standard of living. Well, considering the military power of the United States, I believe it essential to the planet that the citizenry wake up to the reality of this need and how it blinds us. eg: It's not that we aren't wonderful people, but vast and persistent evidence shows that we tend to elect leaders based on their professionally projected personality instead of on the facts. And then we (feel the need to) believe them -- WHY? So we can feel ok about ourselves. Therefore, our real need is to get real, become aware of the incredible degree of denial (developed as a coping mechanism to psychologically protect us from the immense pain of it all), get a hold of ourselves, and get in charge of what we can be proud of. (If you want detailed analysis/prognosis, see the "Over-Coming Disillusionment" and "Intro to Poly-Psy" pages. And then there's "the Rove Report" or "Machiavengelical Mag"...)
In the above paragraph I'm not talking about the others who just like bullying people around: "We deserve it because we're better AND we're bigger" - nor about the Milkin or Trump types: "we deserve more because we're quicker, slicker, we're winners, and loosers suck" (which "Superiority" lie begot the artwork you see nearby). Nor was it about the fascist types: "we deserve it when we've gained the power to say so, and we're serious enough to 'sacrifice' anyone who gets in our way, friend or enemy". But those are probably only 50% of those who support Bush. The trouble is, many of them tend to be the more financially or militarily powerful people around. However, one of the positive facts going for us is that many top pentagon officials do NOT agree in any way at all with the current policies (assuming all those generals that were fired weren't mute or senile). That's why Rumsfeld has Wolfowitz running the Pentagon. He's about as experienced with military life as Bush is with SOLO landing on a carrier. By the way, Rob Moitoza has a great rif entitled "Chicken Hawks" on his very hip *Speak-Out!* Album.

Speaking of image projection: A little more on the image-casting horse-whisperer, Karl "Rovesputin" (No offense to horses intended): He was one of at least 14 administration officials who owned stock in Enron, he reporting at least $250,000 worth of Enron stock when they joined the administration. After the Republican Party narrowly regained control of the Senate, the Associated Press reported his statement, "Now we have a re-affirmed mandate to carry on our programs at home and abroad. And we will move swiftly in the Congress to push our bills through, to get more strict-constructionist judges into place, and to continue our course abroad, forcefully asserting democracy and freedom around the globe." By the way, Senator Wellstone, the only Senator who had the courage, credibility, and known agenda for challenging Bush's power agenda, was on top of Rove's target list. This was just before Wellstone's death - as Rove was "asserting democracy and freedom" in an election year when the Senate balance of power could be decided by the voters of a single state. A Sheriff said he saw the wreckage of Wellstone's plane all contained in a narrow area, whereas, at Reuters.Com it was, "The wreckage was scattered and fully engulfed in flames," Ulman said. "Just looking at it, it would take a miracle to survive it." Many questions about Wellstone's death still go unanswered - and uninvestigated.
Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld [key figure along with Bush Sr. in top level CIA-related decisions, including covert operations since mid 70's, including during Oli North's handiwork in El Salvadore, Guatamala, and Nicaragua in the 80's] know that folks would catch on if they just do nickel and dime crime. But if they create a big enough lie or a perform a big enough atrocity, then so many citizens will indignantly respond, "Oh c'mon, *we* [good guys] just wouldn't, couldn't do something like that - that's conspiracy stuff !" Rove knows where the sheople's "see no evil" threshold is. He knows that the way to keep sheople in denial (no matter how much other people question it) is to make sure they feel that it would be too painful for them to believe the truth, and then they will find a way to protect themselves from the truth. But they wouldn't have to look far for that protection, (So long as they are "God-FEARing") of course, because it -and lots of fear- is liberally afforded by political magicians such as we have in the current administration (ie: Rove and his special crew). But as I write this column (09/11/03), even Walter Cronkite speaks the truth about the administration policies. Maybe it is indeed time that we ween the sheople from the nipple that provides the milk of blissful ignorance.
Which leads to a perhaps even more frightening question. But first Consider the epidemic of what is being called "pneumonia" among the troops in Iraq, whereas all the facts and experts point to the lung condition being one caused by depleted uranium, and whereas it took 5 years or so for "such conditions to turn up after GulfWarI, and whereas we have put far, far, far more depleted uranium into Iraq, and primarily in the bigger cities where our boys are staying for the most part, and whereas it would thus compute to very few of our boys surviving more than a year or two. IE: Karl Rove and the Bush gang doesn't want citizens to know that 30% of the veterans from the First Gulf War are sick and dying, and another 10% are already dead from related cancers and toxicity. We can find out more at the above links and at Reference Page Section for Depleted Uranium ("DU"). Prior to the draft set to go into effect in 2005, they especially doesn't want our youth to know about the alternatives to military service (as elaborated on below). The only way we will stop DU weapons is to inform the mainstream. Please sign letter at Nuclear Policy .Org to President Bush to not launch a new nuclear arms race. Please pass these links onto your family and friends.
[In My Humble Opinion:] The troops are not coming home soon. [I wrote this paragraph here and in email in Summer '03, Rumsfield just verified my suspicions, 02/23/04.] Ships and planes may be, but not the ground troops. Ok, the QUESTION I'm led to is: How is this administration going to either cover-up the reports of all the deaths that they were warned that our military strategy would lead to, or else when the American citizenry finds all this out, how are the administration individuals going to survive not just politically, but without being hung for murder? Will American citizens find a way to deny even THIS reality? [I want to believe we won't.]
Did you know that more VietNam veterans have committed suicide than were killed in that war? Do you know that we can make all the difference for the Gulf War vets by taking a few basically simple measures? I should say simple but not easy. Listening to the heart of a veteran of such wars is not easy, but most people can learn how to do this. *Co-Counseling* or *Re-Evaluation Counseling* is a relatively easy to learn therapeutic listening technique. I cannot overstate the value that would be realized - for the vet, for the families and friends of vets, and for the nation - were these vets able to "let down" with people that are truly open to listening to their stories, but mostly to their hearts. Thank you.
More than ever before, "A time comes when Silence is Betrayal" (-Martin Luther King) - and a time to Question Authority. The Patriot Acts I & II are about loyalty to a would be KING, whereas our patriotism should be about loyalty to the PEOPLE of this would-be great nation. Regarding the effects on everyone from the Total [Dis]Information Awareness program or [Un]Patriot Acts, designed to intimidate and disenfranchise the citizenry as well as terrorists: I see this as an immediate need in order for us to get through the current phase in the resistance to the administration's Empire creation program.
Have you ever wondered why the media never even mentions the *many thousands* of innocent Iraqi's sacrificed for "our freedom"? I mean, no WMD's, no AlQuada connections, no... but for catching Saddam it was ok to put down 10 thousand Iraqi lives, mostly children, for sanctions (which the US primarily administered, not the Iraqi's), then another 8,000 killed the war - most of them not "in battle" - being old men, children, and women. It is our un-elected "leaders" which are un-American, even inhuman. Veterans for Peace keep up with the stats - because someone has to, and we members each remember when we woke up. Eventually you may want to see the VFP reference section.
Worst/Best Case Scenario: Citizens will successfully resist the disenfranchisement of disguised terrorism so long as we stay awake, keep our cameras visibly ready, always record & report such incidents, and generally maintain citizen action with the issues - no matter what. Once the government terrorists know they can get away with this, then the secret imprisonments (so far limited to those of Persian decent [3/'03]) will escalate to include anyone they can label as "un-patriotic." (If you say, "Not here, you conspiracist," then I definitely suggest you read "12 Warning Signs Of Fascism.") After that they won't need to do it secretly. As long as enough citizens, whatever their creed, are awake and speaking out for citizen's rights (ok, if we could increase that a lot as we approach the voting date, actually), then we are relatively safe.
I indicated in the top links section there'd be something on the 2004 election. My opinion is, if we can't have Dennis Kucinich (more on DK below), then it's the "Anyone But Bush" route for me. I don't believe in waking people up through civil war - which some far leftist intellectuals (who don't spend much time feeling people's hearts) think would be just the thing to manipulate "the masses" toward by giving the fascists a green light (leading us to "revolution in the streets." The kinder of these folk dream that only the warriors on either side would pay the price of life and limb. So - for God's sake, lets fix the 'voting machine fix' (referring to the drive-by manipulatable Diebold voting machines) and use the system while it's still somewhat workable.
You can't get peace in a few months after 40+++ years of non-participation by a majority of the citizenry and while continuing to engender certain attitudes and behaviour that tend to keep various peoples inflamed for basically selfish reasons. Put in another way, our government ALSO represents the 60-80% of the citizens NOT participating. But no choice is a choice to give power away to those who will make a choice to take power from you. This is what WE can change now. We especially need those who want peace to choose to participate. And if we have hopes for our evolvement, we need to begin the work now. Even if we began implementing them today, an era of political sanity (that doesn't HAVE to be an oxymoron) in the nation (let alone in our foreign dealings) won't evolve overnight. I've put a great deal of energy (via various web pages at this site) into showing how we have allowed/created our current condition -- in terms of various attitudes, beliefs, and values - and some interesting times wherein we re-defined certain values. And this implies, therapeutically speaking, that we can therefore can *heal* our socio-political condition by changing those attitudes and re-clarifying some values over more time. That implies potential for a form of continuing *preventative health maintenance* curriculum at schools and colleges. (see links below re: Recovering Democracy, & thumbnail to left).
And if we begin the work now/soon, maybe in the next 100 years our civilization will actually share some very high goals regarding that evolvement. On the other hand, we can hope for miracles that someone else will "save" us. What evolved soul, including one as compassionate as Jesus, would expend effort to save a society when/after, on the whole, they haven't put forth any effort to even be aware of the real problems ? A reward for what?
What I keep visualizing is the re-education of citizens via school and college curriculums. I see this as a direct result of the exposure of the reality of the actual agenda of the current administration AND it's backers. And all this will break many citizen's hearts, just as it broke the hearts of many veterans who have been forced to either wake up or go into deep sleep. But thus both broken and enlightened, and even given some grieving time, we can then get angry, get active, and put that energy to constructive use (ie: communicating effectively to our representatives, making true representatives of them, whether by writing a letter or holding a sign, etc). Would the addition of five minutes a week from say 75 million people provide enough energy to make a difference? Of course it would! Can we elect Dennis Kucinich and create (HR 1673) a Department of Peace, and get on the road to being a major contributor to a sustainable planetary society? Yes, we can! Read Kucinich's "A Prayer for America". So, how about beginning by bringing the administration to account and putting the white house criminals in jail !?! Well, of course, there are lots of links here (above, below, etc) for information and assistance in that direction. Thank you for listening to one more rant.
