Who are the Columbine Poets of Colorado? |

Columbine Poets Inc. is an exceptionally active state society. Our statewide activities include sponsoring both adult and student poetry contests every year. In the Denver metropolitan area, the Foothills Chapter holds weekly workshops on Saturday mornings. Every year the society sponsors a Poetry Festival full with readings and workshops by well known poets. Over the years we have published 10 chapbooks from our national chapbook contests. In 2003 we published an anthology of our members' poetry. It is titled The Silver Lode and is available for purchase. The cost is $10.00 for non-members and $5.00 for members. Orders can be sent to the address below. Membership in Columbine Poets automatically makes one a member of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies. The fee for state and national membership is $15.00. Benefits include a newsletter with numerous contests and discount fees. Membership in the local Foothills chapter is $35, which allows one to participate in all the weekly poetry workshops at no extra cost. There is also a supporting level of $25 for those who wish to support the many literary functions of the Foothills Chapter but are unable to attend weekly workshops.
