Hi, there! I'm James E. Lyle (a.k.a. Doodle), a cartoonist and illustrator.
I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina with my wife Karin.
I am probably best known for my work on a comic-book series called DoorMan
which I co-created with Mike Leonard, but I have been involved with a number
of comic-book projects over the past 20 years. On the pages that follow,
I hope to better acquaint you with some of these and give some of my thoughts
on each project as the mood hits me.
A few notes about the web site that I have designed:
1) Everything here is copyrighted. Not always by me, but certainly by
someone. So don't assume you can copy it.
2) Everything here that is NOT copyrighted by me is posted under the
'fair use' provision of the U.S. Copyright Code. If you don't know what
that means, don't worry about it.
3) I really tried to make a site that was all hyper-linked and stuff,
but I'm just a linear sort of guy. So if you want super interactive, you're
better off with your Sony Playstation 2®.
4) The photo at left is me in my Habitat circa 2000 a.d. and is courtesy
of 'Art the Lobster', thanks Art! While much is the same around here, some
stuff has changed. I am still wearing the red "Chucks" though...
5) I got a lot of complements from this website at Heroes Convention
2003 and so I am finally updating some of the materials herein. Thanks to
everyone who encouraged this!
