What Better Father
Time has
been fickle with fathers
From rulers to care-givers they roam.
He dries tears and hugs, when previously
It was, "Wait till your father gets
home!"
He
wasn't allowed uncertainty,
A disciplinarian he,
Supporter, defender and all around man
Is the image we wanted to see.
Sweeping
transitions taking their toll
On foot now? on horseback? who knows!
With all of the changes over the years
Dads have been kept on their toes.
Strip it
away, this type-casting game
Look deep in his children's eyes.
They practice the art of seeing his soul,
With Love and . . . a deluge of ties!
