Earl Baker came into many of our hearts and lives when the events surrounding Erica's disappearance unfolded nearly eight years ago.
The gentle giant, fondly known as "Pappaw" to all who knew and loved him, engraved an indelible place in our hearts with his sweet, soft, southern drawl and never-ending, welcoming smile.
We grieve today with his passing.
We pray for the loved ones he left behind, whose hearts are surely broken.
May they somehow find comfort in knowing he's gone on to a better place... knowing he's now reunited with the love of his life, Josephine, and his precious granddaughter, Erica.
May God be with you all during this time of sorrow.

The only person ever convicted for criminal wrong-doing in Erica's disappearance will have yet another day in court. He filed for an appeal from the final judgment rendered against him in October 2005. The oral arguments are scheduled to be heard Tuesday, January 9, 2007. Please stay tuned.

bubblegum pink hooded raincoat, light colored

On Sunday, February 7, 1999, Erica Baker left home to walk the family dog at approximately 3:00pm. She was last seen near the Kettering Recreation Complex between 3:50 and 4:10pm. The dog was found wandering the grounds shortly thereafter, but Erica has not been seen or heard from since.
