Here are some of my articles:
1) A Spirit is not a Person
The majority of occurences of the ruach and pmeu'ma relate to G-d's spirit. This usually shows His will in action,His force of will on existence.
It was not until the fourth century CE that the holy spirit being a person and part of the Constantinian "godhead" became church dogma.Early church leaders did not teach this idea at all.Justin Martyr of the second centuryCE taught that the holy spirit was an influence or force of motivation of G-d upon existence.Hippolytus also gave no concept of personality to to the spirit. The scriptures show that the spirit is not a person, but G-d's active force that He accomplishes His will and purpose.A good example is when the spirit came upon Samson and he killed the Phillistines with the jaw bone.
It is noted that the words"in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost;and these three are one(KJ) in older translations (1John 5:7) are sixth century additions to the original text. The footnote in the Jerusalem Bible,a Catholic translation, says these words are "..not in any of the early Greek manuscripts or in the earliest manuscripts of the Vulgate itself."Interesting since it was the Catholic church that put forth this false concept of a personage to begin a few centuries after its conception.
A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testiment,by Bruce Metzger shows that this addition is first found in in a paper, not scripture, called Liber Apologeticus dating to the fourth century and does not show up in the Latin and older Vulgate copies of the NT until the sixth century. It is interesting that the christian sect that originally put forth the concept has admitted forging the writings to fit thier doctrines, yet the churches that evolved from it,still blindly accept a falsehood.
2) Origins of the NT
Jesus' movement was called THE KINGDOM OF GOD. He did not start a new religion. We must move back past the beginning of “Catholicism” to the faith of Jesus. The books of the “New Testament” are not the original manuscripts. They are copies made mostly by men under the authority of the Roman Catholic Church. Which
created a new religion apart from the movement that Jesus started called THE KINGDOM OF GOD they called Christianity. This new religion was and is made up of man made CREEDS AND DOCTRINES most if not all are in error.
Three examples are THE TRINITY (190 CE.), ORIGINAL SIN (5TH CENTURY), TITHING
for the CHURCH (8TH CENTURY).
By so doing they created another Jesus.Instead of the mortal leader of a movement towards full Torah,he was turned into a quasi-pagan demi-god.
In the year of 1955 Pope Plus the X11 authorized the release of a document
acknowledging the fact that some monks and priests had changed some of the scriptures to make them conform to their doctrines.
David Flusser in his book “Jewish Sources in Early Christianity” wrote“The redactors of the Gospels, who in the Greek versions even changed the words of Jesus himself” (page 10)He also wrote the expression “new .covenant” or “New Testament” never appears in the sayings of Jesus. (page 70).
Dr. Robert Lindsey in his translation of the book of Mark made the statement “That if they had known then what he knew now. They would never
canonized the book of Mark.”
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for teaching, reputing, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 nd Timothy3:16-17)
Is the New Testament included in “ALL SCRIPTURES “ ? The first .NewTestament was rejected by Rome in 140 CE The next .New Testament came to Rome in 323 CE., but wasn’t canonized until about 380 CE The answer is NO.
Paul didn’t know any thing about a “New Testament” his bible was the Hebrew bible now called The old Testament..
It pays to check out the history of the church .and the history of the NewTestament. Christianity as it exists today has no Jewish Roots.
3) The NT Is Not Divine Scripture
First we must accept the fact that Divine scripture, something given by or inspired by G-d,can not be blatently wrong. This is not to prove nor disprove the belief in the one called Christ, but rather to show that the New Testiment is not holy scripture. There are to many incorrect references to the Tanakh,Old Testiment to those who do not understand Hebrew. The KJV is being used as NT reference since it is the most commonly used.
The book of Matthew seems to have the most mistakes and one very strange comment.Matt 1:23 says a virgin will concieve, yet in the Tanakh the word used is almah not betulah.Almah is young woman and betulah is virgin, two very distinct words. The Greek uses one word for virgin and young woman in thier language. When you look up the word virgin in Strong's,it lists one paticular number for the word until you get to that passage. It then lists a different number. The strange comment in this passage is"they shall call him Emmanual, which being interpreted is,G-d is with us."There is no practical purpose for a Jew(Matthew) to translate a Hebrew name to other Jews(Whom he was writting to).I find this to be the strangest thing of all.Matt 2:23 says that ,"...he came and dwelt in a city called Narareth:that it might be fullfilled which was spoken by the prophets,he shall be called a Nazarine".There is no mention of this in the prophets. This perported prophesy does not exist. In the KJV Old Testament, the words Nazareth and Nazarene do not appear at all in any of the scriptures.Matt23:34 states that the Jews would crucify prophets and scourge some in the synagogues.Jews never have crucified, that was a Roman means of execution.Beheading, stoning, strangulation,
and hanging were the only methods used.No one was ever whipped in the houses of G-d.It would be an abomination.Matt23:35 says that Zacharias, son of Barachias was killed. There is no Zacharias mentioned in the Tanakh. There was a Zechariah that was stoned but his father was Zahoiadah. There is no mention of a Barachias in the Tanakh at all.Matt 27:9 says that Jerimiah prophesied about a potters field and thirty pieces of silver. There is no reference to a potter's field nor thirty pieces of silver in Jeramiah.
Mark9:11-13 and Mark6:16,"Elijah has come..." and "It is John, who I beheaded,..".There is no indication that Elijah would be beheaded in The Tanahk. He is to anounce the Messiah's coming. These to passages give the idea that John the Baptist was Elijah, since he proclaimed a coming Messiah. When asked he was the Messiah,John said no,when asked if he was Elijah,he said no.
John17:12 mentions a "son of perdition;that the scripture be fulfilled."There is no reference to a son of perdition in the Tanakh.
Acts 7:53 and Gal 3:19 say that the Torah was given by the angels. It was given to Moses by G-d.Ex 20:1,"And G-d spoke all these words,...Acts 7:14 says that 75 souls went down to Egypt yet it says threescore and ten (70) went down in Gen 46:27.Acts7:15-16 says that Jacob was buried in Shechem when the cave that Abraham bought was Mam're(Gen50;13,Gen25:9).Acts 7:16 says that Abraham bought the burial cave from the sons of Emmor, yet it says from the sons of Heth in Gen 25:10
1 John5:7,For there are three that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost:and these three are one. This passage was added to the bible in the sixth century. It is first found in a paper called Liber Appologeticus in the fourth century. It is noted that the words"in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost;and these three are one(KJ) in older translations (1John 5:7) are sixth century additions to the original text. The footnote in the Jerusalem Bible,a Catholic translation, says these words are "..not in any of the early Greek manuscripts or in the earliest manuscripts of the Vulgate itself."It is interesting that the Catholic church, who originally added this verse would admit now that it a spurious addition to the Testament.
4) Dogmas
A dogma is when a set of conceptions has been thought and declared binding, with salvation being dependant on belief in it and presented by an established authority. It is mostly based on philosophy and the ideas of man rather than on scriptural revelations.
In Judaism, the "principles of Torah" (Sifra on Lev.19:18,Shabbot 31a;Makkot23b;Berakhot 63a;Mishna Sanhedrin X.1) are principles of pious behavior. The core of Judaic form isTorah, but doctrines change and remain free of being final and permanently binding.
In Christianity, divine revelation and salvation are thought to be equal. The mystery of salvation is made visable through the sacrament, where in Judaism the mystery remains in the ideal. That G-d can only be approached by pious acts and through quiet meditation.
The value placed on good and pious deeds in Judaism is a strong deterant against dogmatic concepts. Many authors of church dogma were philosophers whose ideas brought them to religion and they found philosophy in religion. This philosophical set of dogmas were given as religious creed,as truth for the ones called"poor in spirit" by Origen.
