Greetings! The reason I call this "Angela's Home" is because I'm a home-schooling Mom. :o) I started this web site, about 1-1/2 years ago, hoping to bring some useful info. for home-schoolers to the internet. :o) I don't know if I've been very successful, but I've tried hard to use my free web space here, at AOL. ;o) I've got a lot of helpful links, on my links page, that I've gathered as my children and I have studied different topics. I said "my children and I," because, home-schooling, I learn something new every day, and I love it! :o) Why did we start home-schooling? Well, I'm not going to sit here and flame anyone, but we were very definately dissatisfied with the public school system. After MONTHS of very ernest praying, for God's approval or disapproval of me home-schooling our children, God gave me the answer that couldn't have been any clearer than if He'd come over and hit me up side the head! : o (He really DOES answer prayer!) So, here we are home-schooling for our fourth year, now. It seems like we just started yesterday; time goes by so very fast! What curriculum or what method do we use? LOL! (Laugh Out Loud) Well, I get most of our curriculum from a store here, in the Treasure Valley, called Curriculum Cottage. They have quite a selection, and I've found some very good workbooks there for my children. I've also bought very good, Christian, science, health, and history books, for my sixth-grader, from A Beka Book. They are from Pensacola Christian College in Florida. I really like these text books that have a Christian/Creationist (also see Creation Research Society) point of view. :o) One more source for workbooks that I really like for young children, pre-school through about third grade, is Golden Books Step Ahead workbooks. I really like having my children do "bookwork" every day, as well as going on field trips by ourselves and with other home-schoolers. Well, I certainly hope you can find something that is useful to you here. :o) Go ahead, look around on this site.
