Easy Double-Crochet Cap

Pattern is to be used for personal use only.
Materials:
* about 3 oz of worsted wt. yarn
* a
size I hook for child
* a size J hook for adult med./child`s large
size
* a size K hook for adult large
Stitches used:
ch -
chain
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double
crochet
fphdc - front post half-double crochet
fpdc - front post double
crochet

Ch
5, join with a sl st to form a ring.
1: Ch 3, work 11 more dc in ring.
Join with a sl st to top of ch 3. (12dc)
The beginning chain counts as your
first st in each row. Do NOT turn at the end of the row.
2: Ch 3, dc in
same st, 2 dc in each dc around. Join. (24dc)
3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st,
(dc in next st, 2 dc in next) around. Join. (36dc)
4: Ch 3, dc in next
st, 2 dc in next, (dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next) around. Join.
(48dc)
5: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next; (dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in
next) around. Join. (60dc)
6 - 11: Ch 3, dc in each st around.
Join.
If you want your cap a bit longer add an extra row of dc here.

12: Ch 3, dc in next st, fpdc in next st;
(dc in next 2 sts, fpdc
in next) around, Join.
13: Ch 1, sc in next st, fphdc over next
fpdc;
(sc in next 2 st, fphdc in next fpdc) around. Join. Fasten off.
