This was the first pond that Hubby and I did in April of 1994. It is 7'x9'x3'
in an oval shape. We used flagstone to make a waterfall and a viewing area
where the park bench sits for all to enjoy.

| This is my favorite frog. Her name is Pocahontas because she is a very
unusual turquoise color for a green frog (Rana Clamitans) She has been my
pal and given me many hours of fun. Of course I have spent a fortune on night
crawlers for her. She even gave me some tadpoles which I raised in the
house for entertainment this winter. Now I have 5 tiny frogs to feed......they
seem to like crickets. What we won't do for our pets. Pocahontas has stayed
for 3 summers and is hibernating outside in the small pond right now.

This is a view of the Koi pond (2500 gallons) We had to add a second pond
in April of 1995. Didn't realize how fast the Koi grow.... Have 7 adult Koi
that are regular and butterfly type. Just mutts, not great markings, but
I love them anyway. We also have numerous smaller Koi about 8"-10".
|
| This is the other end of Koi pond. See George, the real
green frog, sitting
on top of the fake frog. He is the King of the Koi pond, at least he thinks
he is.

This was my first bloom on my Asiatic Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera var. alba)
Just planted it May 29th and it bloomed in September. Pretty good for the
first year. Aquatic plants are another new world to explore. Can't say you
forgot to water them.

Here we are feeding three of the girl frogs. They
get so tame when you feed them everyday that they come out of the water
and fight over the night crawlers. We have tons of tadpoles
that are turning into frogs everyday. One day we counted 77 baby
frogs. Buying the night crawlers is going to break me :)
