The New Jersey Gaelic League was founded to promote the language, culture and traditions of Ireland. The Gaelic League holds a monthly Ceílí (Traditional folk dance) on the second
Saturday of each month.We also teach classes in Ceílí dancing and set dancing on Thursday

We have offered Irish language classes in the past and Bergen Community College now offers Irish language classes as a result of the work of our members. We continue to work together with the college
in this important partnership.
Another organization which we aided in getting started over 15 years ago is the "Gaeltacht Weekend" Irish language immersion group, or Daltai na Gaeilge.
Additionally, an Irish language Mass is celebrated once a year by our Gaelic League branch.

A small conversation group gets together weekly at a restaurant in Chatham to converse in Irish, if you are interested in joining the group call Maighread at 201-366-8483.
