Arethedell Elizabeth Els (-1G)
*My direct-line ancestors. The (-5G), etc., after the names indicates the number of generations before Erven Thoma. Her nickname was "Dell". She applied for S. S. # 493-10-0291 in Missouri on 7 Dec. 1936 when she was single. At this time she was living at Route 6, Box 656, Webster Groves, St. Louis County, MO. She was working for the N. American Electric Lamp Co. at 1151 South Broadway in St. Louis. Her date of birth (1920) and parents' names are given. Sometime after ca 1938 she married a Mr. Kish and they had one child, Nancy. Then Dell was widowed or divorced. Then on 23 Feb. 1950 she married William Aloys Winge (-1G) in St. Louis. At this time she was 27 years old (b. in 1922) and living at 1542 S. Sappington Rd. in St. Louis County. William was 23 years old and had the address of Rural Route #6, Box 109 in Sappington, MO. They were married by the Rev. Paul Hansen of 3827 Morganford St. (license #553771, vol. B177, p. 137) The St. Louis County Directory of 1955 lists Wm. A. Winge, with wife Dell, a radio operator for the State Highway Patrol, living at 9854 Sappington Rd. in Sappington, MO. The 1958 County Dir. has the same information. The 1961 County Dir. has Wm. A. Winge, with wife Arethadell, an engineer at IBM in St. Louis, living at 10543 Crecelius Dr. in Concord Village. Her husband worked for IBM in the field of electronics.
She and her own family moved to Apalachin, Tioga County, NY. Later she and her husband moved to Davidson?, Mecklenburg, NC. Her husband died 20 Sep. 1980 in Apalacin, NY but was buried in North Carolina. She died on 9 June 1999 in Zip Code area 28031 which is in Davidson, NC. The last benefit was paid to Zip Code area 13732 which is in Apalachin, NY which is perhaps where her children were living. ------------------ Her daughter Nancy Kish (by her first marriage) died in the Fall of 2004. At that time her two children by her second marriage were still living.
