There is a Harry Diehl, 15, in the 1900 Census for St. Louis (enum. dist. 96, sheet 6A, dwelling 50, family 121). He was born in Mar. 1885 in Missouri; his father in Missouri, his mother in Illinois. I don't know if this is the correct one because the mother's birthplace does not agree with the 1910 and 1920 Census which differ between them. There are 8 other living children in this family. The father's name is also Harry and the mother's name is Rosie.
Ida Barbara's parents were born in Germany; I do not know when they immigrated. Harry's parents were born in Missouri. I do not know exactly when Harry F. Diehl was born or married and I do not know if he had siblings. He was 23 years old when he married (according to the 1930 Census) so that puts the year of his marriage to Ida Barbara Vogel (-2G) at ca. 1909.
Daughter Mildred Katherine Irene Diehl (-1G) was born 23 Mar. 1910 in St. Louis, MO.
The 1910 Fed. Census for Missouri (supv. dist. 10, enum. dist. 240, sheet 1B, dwelling 14, family 21, lines 81-83, dated 16 Apr.) shows the Harry F. Diehl family living in ward 15 of St. Louis at 2622 Hickory St. Harry, 24, was born in Missouri of parents born in Missouri. He is a salesman for a packing company. His wife, Ida B., 25, born in Illinois of parents born in Germany. They have been married 1 year and have had one child. That child is Mildred, less than a month old, born in Missouri. They are renting.
Son Harry A. Diehl (-1G) was born ca. 1914 in Missouri, probably in St. Louis.
The 1920 Census for Missouri (T625_949, enum. dist. 148, page 1B, Ancestry.Com image #0404) shows a Harry Diehl, 34 years old. But his wife is Marie, born in Germany and there are no children listed.
There is another Harry Diehl, 34 years old in the 1920 Census for Missouri (T625_958, supv. dist. 183, enum. dist. 540, page 1B, Ancestry.Com image #0282, lines 97-100, dwelling 17, family 26, dated January 2). Harry is working in a packing house as a commercial traveler(?), where he is a wage worker. He was born in Missouri; his father in Illinois; his mother in Missouri. The family is renting in ward 27 of St. Louis at 5840 N. Market St. Mildred is 9 years old and her brother Harry is 6. The mother, Ida, is 35 years old. Ida and the children have no occupation but are in school. Ida was born in Illinois; her parents in Germany. The parents are not in school but can read and write. The parents and Mildred can speak English. There is no mark for the boy Harry in that column. The boy is in school and has no occupation. [Their third child has not been born yet.]
Daughter Lucille A. Diehl (-1G) was born ca. 1922 in Missouri, probably in St. Louis.
The 1930 Census for Missouri (T626_1244, supr. dist. 8, enum. dist. 221, page 3A, printed page #169, Ancestry.Com image #0913, dwelling 46, family 55, dated Apr. 3, lines 13-17) shows Mildred I. Diehl, 20 years old, living with her parents and siblings in ward 27, precinct 16, block 5551 of St. Louis (city) at 5864 Highland Ave. Her father, Harry F. Diehl is 44 years old and was married at age 23. He and his parents were born in Missouri. He is a salesman for a biscuit maker. He was not a veteran and not a student currently. He is able to speak, read and write English. Mildred's mother, Ida B., is 45 years old and was married at age 24. She was born in Illinois; her parents in Germany. She had no occupation and was not in school. She could speak, read and write English. Mildred was born in Missouri, her father in Missouri and her mother in Illinois. Her occupation was stenographer in an insurance company. Her brother Harry A. is 16 and her sister Lucille is 7 years and 10 months of age. They are both in school and have no occupation. They can read and write. The boy is marked as able to speak English but curiously Lucille is not marked for that ability. [It is probably an oversight.] They were born in Missouri; their father in Missouri; their mother in Illnois. The parents own the house valued at $8,000 and they have a radio.
The MO Archives has record of a Harry Diehl who died in Jul. 1938 in St. Louis (city) (#23024). This is probably the correct one but I need to see more evidence.

| This is a family park taken on 23 Aug. 1945 in Francis Park, St. Louis, MO. Mildred is the woman, second from our left side, to the right of the boy. The two blonde girls are her daughters. |

Harry's name was included on his daughter Mildred's S. S. application in 1963.
His wife died in Jan. 1954 in St. Louis (MO Archives death certificate #35304).
His daughter Mildred married Aloys J. Ricklin in 1934 and had 2 daughters. She died on 01 Nov. 1998 in St. Louis.
I don't know if their other two children married nor when they died.
