The (-1G), etc. after the names indicates the number of generations before Erven Thoma.

Here is a group picture of members of three families (Winge, Ricklin, and Thoma) taken ca 1911 at the Winge home in St. Louis. Clara is standing in the back row on our left. Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the picture.
Click on this thumbnail to enlargen the picture of her mother, Clara Thoma. This is perhaps a wedding picture, therefore would date from the 1920's.

The 1920 Fed. Census (vol. 105, district 206, sheet 10, line 21) lists the grandfather, Otto and his family still living at 2817 Wyoming in St. Louis. He is 55 years old, born in Germany, immigrated in 1878 and naturalized in 1885. His wife, Mary Elizabeth, 54 years old, was born in Missouri. Clara, is 23 years old, born in Missouri. Also living there is Amalia Juengel, the sister of Mary Elizabeth, 63 years old, born in Missouri (1910 Census says born in Missouri). But Clara's brothers, Walter and Otto (Jr), are no longer living with their parents.

June's parents married sometime in 1921; June was born ca 1925. I believe that June was the only child.

June's mother died on 16 June 1928 and was buried on 19 June in Otto Thoma's lot (block 7, lot 41) in New St. Marcus Cemetery in St. Louis County. June Ellen is mentioned in her mother's obituary in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Her father remarried ca. 1929, probably in St. Louis. I do not know the complete name of the woman, but her first name was Dorothy. She was ca. 21 years old at the time of her marriage and was born in Missouri.

The 1930 Fed. Census for Missouri (supv. dist. 9, enum. dist. 96-563, ward 12, printed p. 157, hand-entered p. 13A, dwelling #207, family #216, lines 23-26, dated 08 Apr.) shows what appears to be the correct family. Oliver is head of household at age 32. He was first married at age 24 [to Clara]; he was born in Missouri, his father in Missouri, his mother in Iowa(?). His wife Dorothy is 22 and was married at age 21. She and her parents were born in Missouri. Oliver's daughter June is 5 years old; she and her parents were born in Missouri. Living with them is Pauline Baker, Oliver's mother, who is 67. She was born in Missouri but her parents were born in Germany. June and Pauline do not have occupations. I cannot make out the occupations of Oliver and his wife. They are living on Loughborough Ave. in St. Louis (city), between Roy Ave. and Leona(?) [I cannot read the address number]. Oliver and his wife own the house which is valued at $11,000. They do not have a radio set. [The Ancestry.Com index for this Census does not include these people, perhaps because their names are hard to read.]

Here is a picture of June as a child. Picture was taken ca. 1934-38. Age and place? The picture was donated by Joan Schaller Yeckel, who was a childhood friend. Click the thumbnail to enlarge.

June graduated from Cleveland High School in south St. Louis, probably ca. 1943

June married a Mr VanCryer sometime after 1943. I do not know if they had children.

June died sometime in 1979. I do not know when her husband died.

    --------------------

I do not know for sure when her father died.but it could have been on 17 May 1953. There is an Oliver Baker (S.S. #493-10-2784 issued in MO) in the S. S. Death Index who was born in 1898 and died in Dec. 1981.
