The (-1G) after the names indicates the number of generations before Erven Thoma.
His father was born ca. 1851 in Canada of English parents. His mother was born ca. 1863 in Missouri of German parents. Before Oliver was born the parents had a son Eduard ca. 1884 and a daughter Edna ca. 1895.
The 1900 Fed. Census for Missouri (T623_891, enum. dist. 111, page 14A, stamped page 131A, dwelling 145, family 323, dated 12 June) has Oliver Baker, 3 years old, living with his parents in ward 7 of St. Louis at 1823 S. 12th St. Oliver was born in Sept. of 1896 in Missouri, his father in Canada and his mother in Missouri. Oliver's father is Eduard, 49 years old, born in Jan. 1851 in Canada, his parents in England. He is a porter at a glass-manufacturing plant. Oliver's mother, Pauline, is 37 years old, born in Feb. 1863 in Missouri. Her parents were born in Germany. Eduard and Pauline have been married 8 years. Also in the family we find their son Eduard, 16 years old, born in Feb. 1884 in Missouri. He is a collector but it does not say of what. Also we see a daughter Edna, 5 years old, born in Sept. 1894 in Missouri. Finally we see Pauline's widowed father, John Knierim who is 65 years old.
In the 1910 Census for Missouri (page 106A) we find Oliver's sister, Edna Baker, 15 years old, as a boarder (live-in-servant?) in another household in ward 15 of St. Louis. The whole of the family is found in the 1910 Fed. Census for Missouri (T624_818, page 150B, enum. dist. 228, dwelling 23, family 45, dated 14 Apr.) living in ward 14 of St. Louis at 2405? Salina St. The head of household is Edward, 59 years old, born in Canada, his parents born in England. He is a carpenter at a glass works company. His wife, Pauline, is 47 years old, born in Missouri, parents born in Germany. They have been married 17 years and it appears that Edward was married before. Pauline had 4 children but only 2 are living at this time, yet three are listed on this Census sheet. Was one adopted or from Edward's previous marriage? Curiously Edna is listed here, so perhaps the person listed in ward 15 (see above) where an Edna Baker is a boarder, is probably not our Edna, unless she was counted twice. She is 16 years old and has no occupation. The oldest child, son Edward, is 26 and is a salesman. Our Oliver J. Baker is 14.
I have not yet found the listing in the 1920 Census.
Oliver married Clara Thoma (-1G) in 1921 in St. Louis. They applied for the license in St. Louis on 28 June (#250741, vol. 98, p. 2). They were both ca. 24 years old.

His daughter June Baker (0G) was born ca. 1925
His wife Clara died 16 June 1928 at the early age of 31. She was buried on the 19th in the Otto Thoma lot (block 7, lot 41) in the New St. Marcus Cemetery in St. Louis County.
Oliver remarried ca. 1929, to a Dorothy (maiden surname unknown), probably in St. Louis. She was ca. 21 years old and was born in Missouri. He was ca. 32 years old. I do not know if they had any children.
The 1930 Fed. Census for Missouri (supv. dist. 9, enum. dist. 96-563, ward 12, printed p. 157, hand-entered p. 13A, dwelling #207, family #216, lines 23-26, dated 08 Apr.) shows what appears to be the correct family. Oliver is head of household at age 32. He was first married at age 24 [to Clara]; he was born in Missouri, his father in Missouri, his mother in Iowa(?). His wife [I can't read her name, but is it supposed to be Dorothy] is 22 and was married at age 21. She and her parents were born in Missouri. Oliver's daughter June is 5 years old; she and her parents were born in Missouri. Living with them is Pauline Baker, Oliver's mother, who is 67. She was born in Missouri but her parents were born in Germany. June and Pauline do not have occupations. I cannot make out the occupations of Oliver and his wife. They are living on Loughborough Ave. in St. Louis (city), between Roy Ave. and Leona(?) [I cannot read the address number]. Oliver and his wife own the house which is valued at $11,000. They do not have a radio set. [The Ancestry.Com index for this Census does not include these people, perhaps because their names are hard to read.]
I do not know when he died, but it was after 08 Apr. 1930. It might have been in Dec. 1981 (see below).
