WELCOME TO OUR WEB SITE!
We are cyber-novices, so keep checking back. We'll be adding stuff all the time, and suggestions are welcomed and encouraged. What follows are notes about The Band, The Music, The Players, The Friends, and how we do things in Sundownerland (sometimes called Ripperville). We call our music World Rock and our motto is Just Say Yes! Here we go...

JUST SAY YES / WORLD ROCK
The band operates under the motto Just Say Yes! Whatever someone in the band wants to do, say, or play, we do it. Just say Yes. It will be all right. Within our shows (which sometimes last over six hours if the club is willing and stays open) there's room for everyone to do most of what we want. Our focus is not on any style of music, but rather on the voice of each musician individually. This led us to labeling our music as World Rock. We'll do Reggae, Ska, Blues, Funk, unclassifiable jams, Rock Roll... whatever we like (and we like a lot). So does our audience.

HISTORY
We got together in the spring of 1992 to jam at a club on the Venice Beach Boardwalk every Sunday afternoon. We all played music in multiple projects (often called bands) in Los Angeles. Afternoon shows evolved into afternoon/evening beach parties, and four years later The Sundowners were having more fun freedom than we were in the other things we were doing. We got a mailing list, band photos t-shirts, made a CD (Gas Mask), and voila! We're now a band! During the fall of 1996 we went to Finland and Sweden. Trips to the rest of Europe, Brazil, and Asia are in the works. In the meantime, we play two to five times a week in the LA area (check out The Sundowners Event Schedule) and we're looking for more. We got his web site, we're recording more songs, and we're having a very good time. And as of August of 1998, we've finally found a new home! Check us out at Que's New Riverbottom in Burbank (Click here - Q'S NEW RIVERBOTTOM) where we hope to re-create all of the fun and good times we started in Venice.

Join our E-Mail / postage list here: The Sundowners E-Mail, or you can call The Sundowners hotline at (323)993-6067. You can also visit our link site at The Sundowners-World Rock. We noticed another band mention on their Web page that their e-mail list would be kept confidential. We thought that was very thoughtful and considerate. We will not make that promise (unless you request that, of course). We do promise not to sell our list to anyone, and anyone that gets it will share our concept of responsibility and integrity.

WRAP UP
The rest of this site can include almost anything! (Just Say Yes). There's information on shows, tours, Sundowners merchandise, and tid-bits about other things we're doing. Instead of losing our individualities for the good of the whole, we feel we should exploit our individualities for the good of the whole. Check out the links - we like them, and you might, too. Just more people, places, and things we find interesting and amusing.

We'd like to thank you and the people at the shows that make our band possible. If a Rock Roll band plays and nobody's there to hear it.... no music is made. Period.

We also want to thank our executive producer Julie T. O'Malley, Deb Kraemer and Lil Deb Co., Jay 'Harmonahan' Monahan, Terri Vitale, Cathi Paige, Mort Weinstein, Shirly Spieler, Barry the Mystic Nose, Harry Pierson, and Kim Gilbert for actions and support above and beyond the call of duty.

Rock on -
