Help Bristol Township in its renovation endeavors for our Henry C. Morgan Stadium at Harry S. Truman High School. Built in 1959, the stadium is in need of renovation and modernization to improve the enjoyment of all that attend activities here. The projected cost is $2.6 million to completely renovate the stadium. Included in the improvements are new bleachers, full service concession stand, locker rooms, clean modern rest rooms, and handicap accessibility.

During the Thanksgiving Day football game between Harry S. Truman and Conwell-Egan High Schools, Governor Mark Schweiker awarded a $1 million dollar matching grant to our project. In the photo at left, Committee Members Earl Bruck and Ron Matlack proudly display the million dollar check. In order to raise the additional funds, we need the help of our community.

Remember this project is being done
without the use of
School District money.

On July 2, 2003, members of the Stadium Renovation Committee took a tour of the stadium along with writer Winslow Mason from the Bucks County Courier Times. Visit our Photo Slideshow to see pictures of our tour of the deteriorating stadium.

Bristol Township School Board Shows Their Support For The Renovation Project.

On February 25th the Board voted 7 - 2 for the District to take out a $1 million dollar loan to secure the $1 million grant from formed Governor Mark Schweiker. This means that the Stadium Renovation Committee can continue with their plans of renovating the stadium in a way that will make all students and residents of Bristol proud. The Stadium Renovation Committee is responsible for repaying the loan and now is able to raise the money over a longer period of time. This is beneficial to the corporations that would like to show their support by being able to spread their donations over a number of years. In this economy, corporations still want to help the community, which now by offering this option makes it possible. The balance of the money will be raised with grant, fundraisers, and personal donations.

Stadium Renovation Committee has first of many fundraising events
just four days after the resent show of support from the School Board and community.

The Stadium Renovation held a Car Wash and Bake Sale at the family-owned Magic Touch Car Wash on March 1st. Mike Muriz (part owner) donated $3.00 from every car that used the automatic car wash. Committee members ran a Bake Sale and vacuumed car interiors to make a cold, overcast day the success it was. The event ran from 8:00 to 5:00 and raised $300.00 from the car wash and $109.00 from the Bake Sale and Car vacuums. Special thanks to the owners of the Magic Touch Car Wash! Please remember them for your future car wash needs. A spring Car Wash is in the plans. Not to be over-looked are all of the people that had their cars washed and vacuumed, and purchased t-shirts and the homemade baked goods. This event would have been nowhere near successful with out the help of the following present committee members, new members, and families that bared the cold and elements to make it possible - Ron Matlack, Judy Matlack (Bake Sale Coordinator), Wayne Page, Paula Page, Chris Spadaccino, Stacy Gerlach, Cathy Ivins, Carol Becker (new member), Jamie Kravcak, Joe Champy, and the students that helped: Jennifer Kralle, Rebecca Page, Cindy Page, Jenna Spadaccino, and Rachel Becker. Kudos to their hard work.

Henry C. Morgan Stadium is used for football (Truman and Conwell-Egan), boys' fall soccer, girls' spring soccer, track and field, pep rallies, graduation and more.

"A new stadium will enhance athletic opportunities for the entire township, as well as provide an important community focal point, which will develop pride and a sense of common identity."
- Samuel Fenton, Mayor of Bristol Township
