For those of you who never met Brian Reames while he was a student of this studio, all I can say is that you missed out on talking to one of the nicest, most hard working, intelligent young people in East County.
He stopped taking lessons in June 2002 to go to work and earn the funding for his college education. He got accepted into Cal Poly (San Luis Obispo) and he will be majoring in music. His forte will be composition, along with percussion and drums. He also has a good singing voice that has become a tool to help with his compositional work.
It is, of course, mandatory that he continue his studies with the teachers at that campus. I am hoping that when he does get time to come back and visit that we can get him to give a few lectures and demonstrations showing what is happening in the drum/percussion world today. Also, I hope he will share some of his compositions with us.
