All physicians practicing in good standing in Georgetown County are eligible for membership. To be a member of the South Carolina Medical Society you must be a member of your local society. Annual membership fees remain at $100 per year and may be sent Georgetown Medical Society, 13089 Ocean Hwy Unit D4 Pawleys Island, SC 29585.

SCMA Annual Meeting May, 2008
The SCMA met in Hilton Head - we had three representatives from our district - Dr. Kent McGinley, Dr. Janiqua Duncan, Dr. Dave Remigio, and Dr Gerald Congdon. Dr. Gerry Harmon steps down as president and Dr. Rick Schmidt of Myrtle Beach stepped up. Janiqua became the president elect of the Young Physician section. Gerald Congdon is initiating a practice management movement for new physicians. Gerald Harmon is pursuing his efforts with the AMA. We introduced a resolution to provide disaster readiness training to graduating residents, and it was passed unanimously. Exciting times for our county and area.
