Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God,
in the mountains of His Holiness.  Ps. 48:1

Gary & Lu Mathews
(In the Beginning)
As teenagers, Gary & I both attended Browne Junior High School & J. F. Kimball High School in
Dallas, Texas in the mid 1960's.
Both schools had a large enrollment of "Baby Boomers" and the classes & hallways were overcrowded.
We were transferred at the start of our Junior year to a brand new high school, David W. Carter.
The enrollment was so small there that we were the "upper-classmen" for both our
Junior and Senior years during high school.  It was wonderful.  The 1960's were magical.
Life was a blast.  Reminds me of the movies "Grease" & "American Graffiti" to a large extent.
Gary & I had a history class together taught by Coach Couch.  Hey Coach!
We didn't know each other well enough to speak, unless I told him to "Buzz Off!" once in a while.
But he continued to smile and make "goo-goo" eyes at me during class or in the hallways,
and he asked a mutual friend to introduce us.
We had our first date on October 22, 1966.  We were 16 years old.  We went to the Texas State Fair.
We had fun & he won me a stuffed pink poodle.  I STILL HAVE that pink poodle, by the way.
Gary took me to school and back home and on dates in his New 1967 Red Fastback Plymouth Barracuda.
We were inseparable for the next 2 years.  The Beach Boys song, "Wouldn't It Be Nice" says it all.
'OUR SONG'  was & still is  "So Happy Together" by the Turtles.
We were married shortly after our High School graduation in 1968.
We will be celebrating 40 Years of Happy Marriage soon.
I have truly found my Best Friend, my "Prince Charming" and my "Knight in Shining Armor."
This was PrimeTime T.V. THEN & IT was FREE!
Gary & I lived in the "city" for the first 20 years of our marriage, but it was always our dream to live
in the country with enough room for horses and animals.
We are now happily living a life that's daily devoted to our Horses, Pygmy Goats, Pot Belly Pigs,
our dogs and cats, a few chickens, 2 geese and 2 pet turkeys.
We have a modest 35 acre Horse Ranch in East Texas located between Dallas and Athens,
near the little town of Seven Points.
The work is hard, but our rewards are an abundance of "Critter Comforts."
There's nothing quite as special as kissing a soft warm muzzle!
Or hugging a great big neck.  Or laughing at the antics of baby goats.
Or enjoying all the critters who make our home their home.
Or pausing to appreciate the gorgeous sunsets at the end of each day.
Our pets are loved, maybe just a little spoiled, and treated like our kids.
I wish I could keep them all forever, but expenses demand that I sell some to keep the rest fed.
We also have Pygmy Goats and Pygmy mix Goats and other farm animals for sale to loving homes.
So if you ever want to love a horse or pony, donkey or mule, little goat or pet pig of your very own,
we'd love to help you find your next little friend.

Gary still commutes every day to his job north of Dallas.  A daily three hour round trip!
Some day we would like for this to be a full time, self-sustaining horse ranch.

Texas has been in a severe drought for the last two years.
This has, unfortunately, tripled and quadrupled our expenses.
A $20 round bale of hay three years ago, now costs $100, if we can find it.
We would greatly appreciate it, if you're considering buying a horse or a pet animal,
please buy one from us to help keep our dream alive.
Every penny goes back into horse and animal feed and hay.
Finding a loving home where the pet will become a family member is
far more important to us than the price.
