Case rates at 90%, there is a slight imperfection on the bezel at the 5 position. When looking closely at it you can tell it was a flaw in the case when it was new. The movement is a 207, 17 jewel with serial number 5479608 which dates it to ca 1930. Dial is original and 85% with even toning. Hands are original to this watch.

ITEM D16
This is a ca. 1931 Elgin "Legionnaire" Tu-Tone Black Enamel Bezel wrist watch with Roman Numerals set in the enamel. The watch is Tu-Tone yellow gold filled in the center with chrome back and front bezel. There is no wear through or brassing of the case. The enamel on the bezel is in very good condition with only one small crack between the II and the III that continues into the chrome of the bezel. It is very small. There is some minor pitting of the chrome of the bezel but you must view it with a loop to really see it. I would rate the bezel over all at 80%. The movement is an Elgin 7 jewel 4/0S manual wind grade 502 as it should be in this type of watch. Movement is running properly. The dial and hands are original to the watch. Dial is in very nice condition with even toning. Rates to about 80% also. This watch can be seen in several of the watch books including "Vintage American & European Wrist Watch Price Guide" by Sherry & Roy Ehrhardt and Joe DeMesy. It is on page 209 of book 6.
