WNPF LIFETIME HAS BEEN LAUNCHED, a new league with a new format for LIFETIME DRUG FREE lifters. There are many Drug Free for life lifters in the WNPF and many of them are proud to be lifetime drug free. We wanted to start a league for these lifters in 2008 and for any other lifters that are a part of other organizations. This will be for lifters that want to lift against all Drug Free for Life lifters. Recently you have seen many organizations pop up but they are for non tested events or for lifters that are drug free for a certain amount of time. We are not knocking these organizations because the WNPF that’s been around since 1988 has a minimum drug free period of three years also. We’ve been working on this league for years for you the lifetime drug free lifter and here it is.

This will be the first ALL Lifetime Drug Free Powerlifting Organization. Here is what we are going to do to make this league successful.

1- Drug Test by lie detection because this is the only way to test someone for their Lifetime Drug Free Status. Urinalysis will be used as a second method of testing if needed. There will be out of meet testing by lie detection where lifters will have to report for a test at a location other than a meet site. We have been in this business for over 20 years and one thing we know for sure is that lifters that are clean and especially lifetime drug free will take any type of test and test anytime, anywhere.

2- We will ONLY allow the following divisions to make this league as competitive as possible in its first year. Youth 9-10 & 11-12, Teens 13-16 & 17-19, Lifetime Open and Masters in 5 year increments. The Novice Class II division will be offered at all local and state events only.

3- The following format or equipment rules will be in effect. Raw/unequipped- Belt, Wraps (knee and wrist) and t-shirts. Equipped- One ply bench and erector shirts made of poly only, Suits must be one ply and made of poly only. 2.5 meter wraps are the maximum length for knee wraps. We will not allow briefs, denim, canvas or two ply equipment.

4- New State, National and World records will be recorded.

5- We will have WNPF Lifetime state championships, National championship and a World Championship in 2008.

6- We are looking for meet directors in all parts of the U.S. to direct these events.

7- Membership fees will be $20 for youth and high school lifters, $30 for seniors over 65 years of age and $40 for adults for the year. Lifters that renew their WNPF cards in 2008-09 and have 2008-09 WNPF Lifetime cards (members of both the WNPF and WNPF Lifetime) will receive a 50% discount on their 2008-09 WNPF cards, not the 2007-08 cards.

Lifters that are Lifetime Drug Free will be allowed to cross over into both leagues WNPF Natural and WNPF lifetime. The WNPF (Natural) will continue to put on their events for 2008 and all records, etc. will stand. Many of the WNPF Natural and WNPF Lifetime events will take place on the same platform. The 2008 WNPF Lifetime World meet will take place separately from the 2008 WNPF Natural World meet. In order to lift in both sanctions you will have to be a card member of both leagues.
