TRAIN , NATURE, AND WEATHER CLUBS FOR ADULTS AND OLDER TEENS WITH ASD'S

NASHUA NH AREA

Hey Families!

I have recently come across a gentleman in the Nashua area that has created three interest clubs for adults and older teens with ASD.

The clubs are as follows:

· Train Club- visits to train shows and railroad yards, creating model layouts, etc

· Nature Club- geared toward fishing

· Weather Club- storm chasing and presentations by guest speakers

I have spoken with him about expanding his memberships and he has been very excited to include others!

The clubs do not meet very frequently, but more like one month there is a meeting of the Train Club, then the following month there is a meeting for the Weather Club, etc… with visits and special events relating to each club happening at random. (There is a restaurant in Merrimack that is their unofficial *clubhouse* where the owner makes a big deal out of the get-togethers and gives the guys free French fries… we love people like this!)

Some of the events the clubs will be attending coming up include a fishing tournament on March 1 and 2 at the Pelham Fish and Game Club, and a Train Show in Milford on March 8th….

If you have an older person interested in connecting with others who share their interests, please respond to me by email…

(in case you receive this in a forward through another network) and I will contact you with information about the gatherings.

Please let me know the name, age and city/town of residence, and a contact phone number for the club member.

I am so glad to send this message out!
