My Team Prospect
"I could never replace him"
Asterix
A breathtaking ten year-old Oldenburg gelding from the show jumping sire Sion, was bred for dressage out of a Feiner Stern mare.  Asterix did not enjoy the "confinement" of dressage and gave many riders a difficult time, to say the least.  I took Asterix on as one of those difficult horses needing guidance.  I introduced him to 3-day eventing, he loved it!  His then owner, Barbara Duzan, was so impressed at what Asterix would do for me, she decided that his home should be with me.  I started Asterix competing in June 2002, he ran his first CCI* in May 2003, his first intermediate in September 2003, we won the CIC** Gold Cup in March 2004, and we won the Galway Downs CCI** in November 2005 and are currently working towards qualifying for the 2007 Pan Am Games.  We are nearly always in the ribbons and are usually placed 1st after dressage.  Asterix impresses me every time we go out on course.    Asterix has the look, the movement, the jump, and definitely the attitude to make a world class event champion.  I am excited to take the Olympic journey with him.
