The department just got its new Saulsbury/Hackney Squad. The squad is equipped
with all the tools in the rear bay, such as forcible entry tools and 4 different kinds of fire
extinguishers. The squad has 2 opening doors on each side. One of the sides holds a
portable generator, and the Jaws of Life, and the other side holds BLS gear, a DeWalt
Sawz-All, and a Scott 4.5 SCBA. This truck was put in service 8/4 and it is located in
station 2 and known as Squad 3. Recently the Squad got a set of brand new Hurst air
bags. They have come in handy at a few MVAs.

The department just got a brand new 2002 Mack Satellite Truck. The truck carries
foam (2 different types), water, absorbant materials, and a flashlight. It was delivered
April 14, 2002 and it is at Station 1. The rig is modeled after the FDNY satellite trucks.

I am deeply saddened to announce the death of Chief Eric McDonald of
Lego City Fire Department, he will never be forgotten. All flags at the fire
stations have been lowered to half mast. He inspired me so much, I
started my Lego page because of him. I will never forget him.

An order has been placed for a brand new tower ladder, or a squirt. The company will
decide in the next few days what type of truck will be built, and the truck should be
delivered by Christmas. Pictures will be posted of the new trruck when it has been
delivered. Also there has been some talk of a 5th fire station being built, updates on
that will be coming shortly.

The truck has been confirmed, it is a 110 foot rear mount ladder truck. This truck will
carry hand tools, and various equipment. This truck will be numbered Truck 3, it will be
placed in the new station when it is done. In the meantime, it will be stationed at
station 3. The truck is a 2002 Pierce Dash rear mount. Pictures will be updated when
the truck is delivered, which should be in the next few months (before Christmas).

The long awaited new ladder truck has been delivered! It is a 110 foot rear mount
ladder. It is manufactured by Pierce. For now it is assigned to station 3 and will stay
there until the new station is built. The new stations plans are being drawn up now,
and it should be built in the next few months.The new truck holds 2 SCBAs, and a
large assortment of hand tools. Pictures will be posted shortly on the Brickshelf page.

Recently, the EMS supervisor got a new car. It is a 2002 Suburban. It responds to all
major accidents, fires, and most EMS calls. It holds basic EMS equipment, and it is
located at station 1. Pictures now on Brickshelf

A new apparatus has been delivered. TAC 1, this new truck is a 1998 Luverne, and
carries a life raft, the jaws of life, medical gear, and other tools. This truck responds to
all water rescue calls, some MVAs, medical calls, and all fires that are over a 3rd
alarm. Pictures are posted on the Brickshelf site.

Sorry, I haven't updated in a while, I have been busy. New plans for a station are being
drawn up, and the department is looking for the lowest bidder for construction of a
tiller, the second one of the department. Also pictures have been uploaded of the car
accident on the incidents page.

The new engine has been delivered, its a 2003.Pierce Dash with a raised jumpseat
area. It has a 1000 gallon tank and a 1500 GPM pump. It has a 125 foot preconnect
line, and a booster reel. It also has an air conditioned cab and SCBA seats. It will be
marked as Engine 64 and will be in service soon, also pictures will be updated soon.

A new station has been built, its is Station 5. Some of the trucks have been switched
around to accomodate the new stations. The changes will be updated at a later time.

Rescue 2 is going to be getting a new rig. The new truck is a 2003 Saulsbury
walkthrough heavy rescue truck. The new truck will replace the old Rescue 2 rig, and
that rig will probably be sold. The new truck will carry a wide array of hand tools,
hydraulic rescue tools and dive gear. The full list of equipment will be listed when the
truck is delivered.

Res2cue has been delivered, the crew of the rescue is going to the Saulsbury factory
tomorrow (after Thanksgiving) to pick it up. It is a walkthrough truck and has a
Nightscan light tower on the cab. The truck does not have any jumpseats, the
firefighters ride only in the back. Pictures will either be uploaded later today or
tomorrow. HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Drive carefully and eat some turkey.
