Finding Your Way around the
Langstone Bridge area of North Hayling Island
This whole area, east and west of the bridge, and at both ends is beloved of birdwatchers and fishermen. The bridge itself has specially constructed areas for fishing from.
Langstone and Hayling are to be reached by turning off at the main Havant - Hayling
sliproad of the A27, to be found between Portsmouth and Chichester on the south coast of England.
Here is Langstone Bridge , which connects the mainland Havant area to Hayling Island , and more specifically joins two areas of outstanding beauty on either side of the Bridge: Langstone and its shoreline and Northney and its coastal paths.

On the Langstone side is the beautiful Langstone Mill.

The stretch of water on the eastern side of the bridge is Langstone Water which leads into Chichester harbour. As you walk behind the Mill there is a Wildlife Conservation area where many people take their children to feed the ducks and swans.

Once onto the island 1/4 mile beyond Langstone bridge tucked behind a field and barn
is a bungalow which, surprisingly is the location of Piano-s.
At the rear is a piano showroom of new and secondhand pianos,
and an external restoration workshop where they restore
quality pianos like Steinways and Bechsteins.

Once over Langstone bridge, if you keep to the paths along the West shore of Hayling, you will find yourself on the Old Hayling Billy railtrack which is now a foot and bridle path, with clear views of Portsea Island (Portsmouth and Southsea) across Langstone Harbour. At the very south western tip of Hayling Island is a ferry across to Portsmouth. On Hayling sea front is a funfair with many gentle to medium rides,a great themed Crazy golf course, East Hayling Light Railway which leads to The Coast Guard cafe. All to be recommended.
