At 6:30 on Saturday morning we lost the best advocate in New York State. Marie Gopel, she was put to rest on April 6, 1999. Over 200 people were present at her funeral. Disabled Hotline will do a two-part memorial to Marie. For people who want to attend the taping is on May 6, 1999. Limited space is available. Please call (718) 439-0257.

Free Computers if you meet the following requirements:
1.You have to be disabled
2. We need a copy of your Social Security Award Letter
3. We need a letter from you on why you need a computer
4. We need you to have a notarized letter to prove who you are
5. The computer will be mailed to you and we will give you help at

7. It takes approximately 12-16 weeks from the time we receive your letter for you to receive your free computer. You may receive a used computer. Incomplete paperwork will not accepted. If the paperwork is incomplete we will contact you.
Purpose of the DISABLED HOTLINE
Our goal at the Disabled Hotline is to make available to persons with disabilities around the metropolitan area of New York City and points beyond become more aware of the vast network of services and agencies that are available to them, their family, friends and service providers.
We have a 24 hour telephone hotline service to help council, refer and guide persons, children and their families and friends during and after any crisis or event. We are experienced advocates for the disabled. In addition to our hotline, we record special events and happenings, surrounding many issues relating to the disabled. We even have a live call in service on some local access stations.
We currently recondition donated, recycled equipment and distribute complete computer systems to children who are developmentally disabled, adults as well as non-profit organizations that are in the New York Metro area that service the developmentally disabled.
