Special Irish Language Events
What: Here is a Gaeilge workshop you won't want to miss: On Thursday, July 31st, Brian O'hAirt will be leading an Irish Gaelic workshop for all levels (we'll be breaking into smaller groups). It will be held at the Sylvania Campus of Portland Community College in Southwest Portland in the Technology Classroom Building (TCB), room 211 at 7:30 PM. The cost is $20. Please contact me, David Ingerson (at ingerson9@gmail.com or at 503-459-6050) if you are planning to attend so we can plan appropriately for the different levels.
Brian spent several years in the Connemara Gaeltacht studying the language, the songs, the music, and the dancing and is considered a master of them all by both Americans and Irish. For example, he won the All-Ireland singing championship, the first American to do so. He has performed and taught in many places in the Midwest and eastern United States. This is his first trip to the Northwest.
