Amma's Anu! Welcome

"Everyone in the world should be able to sleep without fear, at least for one night.

Everyone should be able to eat to his or her fill, at least for one day.

There should be at least one day when hospitals see no one admitted due to violence.
.
It is Amma’s prayer that at least this small dream be realised."

—from Amma's Message on the day of World Peace
Tuesday, 21st Sept, Amritapuri, India.

Finally updated 2007
Amma, my greatest source of inspiration...

Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, known affectionately as Mother, or Amma, is a spiritual luminary from South India, whose Mission of service and spirituality is unparalleled in this world. Amma travels far and wide spreading Her message of Love and Compassion to everyone regardless of religion, ethnicity or any such differences.

Amma the world traveller...
Amma has been to over 25 countries on Her World tours. It's such an experience traveling with Amma. We have toured: India, Sri Lanka, U.S.A, Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Russia (USSR in 1990), Reunion Island, Mauritius, Kuwait, U.A.E, Qatar, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and Kenya. She recently went to Chile and Brazil after the 2007 US Tour.

Amma not only speaks the Universal Language of Love, but lately has been singing in over 30 languages (including Aboriginal)! This has been a very healing and unifying way to bring people together through spoken word and song.
Amma visits the United States twice a year, in June and November. For more information about Amma's tours click here

Amma, the peacemaker...

New Year Millenium Prayer, Amritapuri, can you find me in the crowd?

Amma, the musician
"Bhajans are prayers in the form of songs, rich in meaning and full of devotional content. When one sings a bhajan wholeheartedly, they completely forget themselves and become one with their longing for the divine." Learn more about bhajans...

Amma and me, L.A. 2002

My Experience...
I was fortunate enough to have met Amma in Palo Alto, California in 1987, when I was only 11. Since 1991, my sister and I have been traveling with Amma on Her World Tours. Since 1992, I have accompanied Amma's Divine bhajan singing by playing the tabla, and my sister has accompanied Amma by playing the keyboard and singing.

ASHRAMA JIVITHAM DHANYAM! Ashram life is virtuous! Even though many of us live far away from India, our home is where Amma is. And many months of the year, Amma is in Her Ashram in Kerala, Amritapuri.

Amma's mission is dedicated serving the world. The list of humanitarian activities, spiritual activities that the Ashram has undertaken is endless. Most recently, Amma launched a massive Tsunami Relief And Rehabilitation Project.
