BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Ajkun began his training in Tirana, Albania under the tutelage of Bolshoi Ballet Teachers.
At the age of sixteen, Leonard bypassed the corps de ballet and qualified directly to solo roles with
The Tirana National Ballet Company. Promoted Principal dancer at 18 years of age, Mr. Ajkun is considered the most outstanding dancer in all the Country’s ballet history.

As Principal Dancer, Leonard performed with The Bucharest State Opera Ballet,
The Teatro Bellini of Catania and The Dance Theater of Harlem.

As a Guest Artist, Leonard appears with a variety of Companies, including:
Los Angeles Classical Ballet, Santa Barbara State Street Ballet, Hartford Ballet, Malta Opera
House, Shanghais Ballet, Northeast Ballet, Fugate/Bahiri Ballet NY, RAI TV, BBC TV, FOX TV, ABC TV and in Ballet Galas in Italy, France, Greece, Tunisia, Turkey, Japan and China.
Since the year 2000, Leonard is the director of the NYC based Company The Ajkun Ballet Theatre.

Leonard's repertory includes leading roles in virtually all traditional repertory ballets,
several George Balanchine's works as well as new creations choreographed on him by
Robert Sund, Chiara Ajkun, Victoria Simon, Jorge Esquivel, Rodney Gustafson, Cynthia Gregory, Hu Ju Lu, Vladimir Vassiliev, Milorad Miscovitch.
Leonard performed with legendary dancers, such as La Scala of Milan's Etoiles Anna Razzi, Maximiliano Guerra, Luciana Savignano, Bolshoi Theater's Etoile Ekaterina Maximova,
National Ballet of Cuba's Etoile Jorge Esquivel, International Star Rudolf Nureiev.
