1- DANCER'S GUIDELINE TO APPLY FOR A GRANT:
In the past seven years US $ 954,000 have been given away in grants.
The programs award an average of US $ 130,000 per year granted to qualifying citizens of participating countries.
TYPES OF GRANTS:
Our program offers EDUCATIONAL GRANTS to dance students and professionals, and INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE GRANTS to professional dancers.
EDUCATIONAL GRANTS PROGRAM
Awards grants to Dance Students and Professional Dancers admitted to further their dance education as Trainees to The Ajkun Ballet Theatre Company. Applicants must be aged 14 years and above, citizens of a participating country, and have mastered a strong technique in ballet.
INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE GRANTS PROGRAM
Grants supplement a Professional Dancer's own funds in living abroad expenses while pursuing studies in a Company's peculiar repertory. To be eligible applicants must be: accepted, but not employed by, in an Internationally recognized European or United States Professional Company, have an extensive documented professional experience in the field, be aged 18 years and above.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection is made on the basis of personal and professional qualifications identified thru an AUDITION PROCESS.
Other qualifications being equal, among same country's applicants, dancers in financial need receive preference.
Financial need status must be supported by legal evidence provided at application time.
Among other factors, selections are affected by:
- Extent to which the candidate will help to advance the aims of promoting mutual understanding among nations and professional dance knowledge in underprivileged areas;
- Ability of the supervising agencies or officers to arrange on-site selections (auditions);
- Ratio of the number of awards offered in a country to the number of applications received.
You should begin an application as early as possible, but:
- not earlier than three years prior your program's date;
- at least by December 20th of the previous year of your program's date.
Grants are given to qualifying applicants in the order applications are received,
to the exhaustion of fund's availability for the year. All applications that reach our office from January 1st to December 20th will be considered for grants for the immediate following year, unless otherwise specified.
AUDITION - HOW TO APPLY:
All applicants must audition. You can elect to audition in person or by videotape/dvd at anytime of the year.

NOTIFICATION
All applicants will be notified electronically (via email) of the outcome of their audition within 30 days.

2- CHOREOGRAPHER'S GUIDELINE TO APPLY FOR A GRANT:
The programs award an average of US $ 100,000 per year granted to choreographers of any citizenship who elect to present new creations during The Ajkun Ballet Theatre Season in The United States and/or Europe.
TYPES OF GRANTS:
Our program offers PRODUCING GRANTS and PRESENTING GRANTS to emerging or established choreographers.
Only individuals aged 16 years or above are eligible to apply.
PRODUCING GRANTS PROGRAM
Grants supplement a Choreographer's own funds in a Dance Creation Production's costs such as: rehearsals facilities, dancers wages, production personnell's consultation in the lead up of performances presented during
The AjkunBT Company Season.
PRESENTING GRANTS PROGRAM
Grants supplement a Choreographer's own funds in presenting its own creation during The AjkunBT Company Season. Financial support is limited to theater rental, lighting and sound equipment rentals, general marketing material printing.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection is made on the basis of personal and professional qualifications identified thru an AUDITION PROCESS. Factors that affect choreographer's eligibility are: professional record, feasibility of the proposed creation for the company, desirability of such work on the market.
You should begin an application as early as possible, but:
- not earlier than three years prior your planned production time;
- at least by December 20th of the previous year of your performance time.
All applications that reach our office from January 1st to December 20th will be considered for grants for the immediate following year, unless otherwise specified.
AUDITION - HOW TO APPLY:
All applicants must audition. The preliminary audition is performed by videotape/dvd.
Applications are accepted at anytime of the year.

4- ABOUT: Enthused on The United States Mutual Education & Cultural Exchange Act of 1961 (Fulbright-Hayes), a cornerstone of United States public diplomacy, and an integral component of foreign policy today, The AjkunBT Scholarship Fund was conceived in the year 2000 as a non-profit organization ( 501 C3), by a Board of Directors chaired by a body of twelve leading representatives of The Financial World, and a Board of Advisors chaired by leading representatives of The Arts in The United States.The Board of Directors is presided over by its yearly-nominated Executive Director and both bodies are leaded by Artistic Directors Chiara & Leonard Ajkun.Reflecting the spirit and philosophy of The Artistic Directors, The Fund provides financial and professional nourishment to artists throughout the years, with primary focus to open the avenues of opportunity in the professional world of dance, allowing cultural exchanges meant to strengthen relationships, understanding and communication with other countries, education about other cultures, and aiming to enhance appreciation and trust as valuable skills for living in a global community.
The Fund receives financial support by Governments (or Government Agencies), Universities, Dance Schools, Dance Companies, Dance Competitions and Private Patrons and Corporate Sponsors contributing to any Talent or addressing their grants to a specific Dancer or Countries participation.
Fifteen countries partecipate every year, and dancers from ASIA, AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND, EUROPE, NORTH AMERICA & SOUTH AMERICA are financially asserted to broaden their studies and experiences, in a country rotating system that provide equal opportunities to qualifying applicants.
