SUMMER PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY:
The program aims to inspire young dancers by combining a summer course
offered to 9-14 years old with our Company 's large scale production time.
Exposure to the life of a professional company in summer provides
young dancers with the opportunity to make a career choice when age is appropriate,
allowing children to continue education in their home communities.
Young dancers will naturally gain knowledge of Classroom & Rehearsal Etiquette
by observing and performing with a professional company,
while studying with an outstanding faculty in a professional, yet nurturing, environment.

PROGRAM INFORMATION:
The ideal candidate for this program is a serious young dancer, aged 9 to 14 years old,
who has achieved a basic level of ballet training.
Participation is available to a limited number of dancers
on first come-first serve basis, without an audition.
NUMBER OF PLACES AVAILABLE IS DETERMINED BY REPERTORY PERFORMED BY THE COMPANY.
Our training concentrates in developing well-rounded dancers,
with emphasis on classical ballet technique.
The Ajkun’s methodology focuses on preventing muscular skeletal injuries (MSI).
TRAINING is offered in ballet, pointe and repertory classes & rehearsals.
Lectures by Company Artists in Ballet Terminology, Dance History,
Pas de Deux (performed by Company's professional dancers) and Make up are also offered.
Young Dancers will experience the opportunity to assist to our Company's training,
and will interact with Company Dancers mentoring the program.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES are offered to all participants,
during the Company's professional productions.
Costumes are provided by The Ajkun Ballet Theatre.
LOCATION for the first three weeks (July 21st - August 9th)
The Ajkun Ballet Theatre's Summer House in Albany (NY) - THE EGG PAC
Additional Performance Tour in New York City is optional (week of August 12th - 16th)
ACCOMMODATION may be organized at a participant's expenses, upon request.
