Avril's Life

Summary: About who Avril really is and her life from her past and why she ran away to hide.
A girl is riding on her motorcycle down the dark streets of Seattle then she suddenly stops and we see its Avril. Avril gets off her motorcycle and looks around to make sure no ones around then she looks up at a tall building. The Space Needle stands before Avril as she stares up at it. Avril looks around once more then she goes inside and heads up to the top. When Avril reaches the top of the Space Needle she walks towards the edge and looks down. Avril smiles down at the people as she sees them walking and riding on their bikes then she sits down.
Avril: (Voiceover) I'm Alba Guevara, I have a twin sister Max who's a few minutes older than I am. Her destination is X5-452 and mine is X5-542. Her barcode is 332960073452 and mine is 332960073542. We were so much alike, but also different. Max has brown eyes and I have blue. No one could ever explain why are eye color is so different. Unlike Max, I was close to Ben and she was close to Zack. He'd do anything to keep her safe and Ben would do the same for me. I can also remember Manticore and the way they treated us like it was just yesterday. I remember lying on the floor being whipped as Max and Zack watched on, knowing there was nothing they could do about it. Even though they wanted to do something. They just couldn't.
Flash Back
I and the other X5s stood straight in line while, Lydecker was instructing us then Zane said something to me that made me laugh. Lydecker heard my laugh and quickly turned around to face me.
Lydecker: What's so funny!?
Alba: Nothing, sir.
Lydecker: Nothing!? Well, you wouldn't be laughing about nothing! Do you know what happens to jokers like you!?
Alba: No, sir.
Lydecker: Well, you're just about to find out!
Lydecker looked away and snapped his fingers then two guards walk over to us, grabbed me, and dragged me away. Ben and Syl looked at Zane and made angry faces at him while, Tinga and Krit watched the guards drag me off to the next room.
In the next room, the guards dragged me in and slammed the door shut. I stood up and saw Max and Zack, remembering they were dragged in there from fooling around earlier.
Zack: Alba?
Max: Why are you in here?
Alba: I laughed.
Zack: That's it?
Alba: Well, yeah. Zane said something that made me laugh. It was really funny.
Zack: What they're gonna do to you isn't gonna be so funny.
Alba: What are they gonna do?
Max: They're gonna hurt you really bad.
Alba: How?
Zack: Well, first they're gone!
One of the guards cut off Zack when he whipped me across the back then I hit the floor hard then I fell over again trying to getup.
Guard One: You should've thought about what you've done.
The two guards both grabbed a whip and started whipping me while, Zack and Max both watched. Zack flinched when one of the guards hit me in the face with the whip. Max jumped and touched her own face like if she felt the same pain I felt.
End Of Flash Back
Alba: (Voiceover) The way they hit me with the whip really hurt. The thing is it didn't hurt as much as my heart did the day of the escape.
Flash Back
We were inside Manticore making a plain on how to escape. I looked at Max and Ben then I smiled, then I looked at the younger of our sisters Kristy. Kristy sat there and stared up at me with a worried expression on her face. I looked back at Ben and he nodded his head then I walked over to Kristy and sat down next to her.
Kristy: Alba, I'm scared.
Alba: Don't worry. I'll take care of you.
Kristy: You promise?
Alba: I promise. I won't let anything happen to you. I'll make sure you get out ok.
Kristy: Thanks.
I smiled at my sister and pulled her close to me for a hug then all of a sudden, Zack stood up and ordered everyone to lineup. Kristy and I walked over to join the others and stood inline next to Brin and Jace.
Zack: Move out!
Zack walked over to the window that Ben climbed out of all the time to go visit the little image of the Blue Lady on the roof then the rest of us followed. After, Zack had climbed out the window Max went out, then the next thing I knew it Ben, Kristy, and me were the last ones inside. Ben stayed behind to make sure we got out all right. I sent Kristy ahead of me while, I waited for Ben. Kristy went out the window to follow the others then Ben and I left too. Ben looked at me then he grabbed my hand. I looked at Ben, stared into his eyes, and smiled. Zack continued to walk towards the edge of the roof then he stopped and looked back at us.
Zack: We'll have to spilt up so all of us can get away easier.
All of us nodded our heads in agreement then we all looked at each other and said our goodbyes. After, saying our goodbyes we all ran down towards the premeditator fence then the alarm went off. We all started running faster then I stopped and looked back and saw Brin while, the rest past me heading for the fence.
Alba: Brin!? Come on!
Brin: I'm staying!
Alba: Your throwing away your freedom!
Brin: Freedom to what!? To have to run my whole life!?
Alba: Brin, you don't understand!
Ben ran up behind me, pulled me away from Brin, and started to run again while, holding my hand. All I did was keep looking back at Brin standing there as she watched us making our escape. I kept running with Ben then I finally turned my attention away from Brin then I turned around again when something else caught my attention. I turned around and saw Kristy dragging herself over towards the fence then I ran over to her.
Alba: Kristy? We're almost there. Don't give up on me now.
Kristy: When you reach the outside I want you to hug a tree for me.
Alba: I will.
Kristy: You promise?
Alba: I promise.
Kristy smiled then she shut her eyes and made no more movements then I slowly placed her head on the ground. I started to cry knowing I didn't get to keep my promise to her. My little sister lay there dead and all I could do was cry. It seemed like I sat there forever sobbing until; I felt something touch my shoulder. I turned around and saw Zack standing there.
Zack: He must go! There nothing more we can do for her.
I nodded my head then I stood up, followed Zack, and jumped the fence to escape to my freedom.
End Of Flash Back
Alba: (Voiceover) I still never hugged that tree for Kristy. I've been too busy in my life hiding from people that are looking for me. Like Ames White and who ever else wants me dead. I never saw any of my brothers or sisters again until one year Lydecker caught me.
Flash Back
I'm being guarded down past a bunch of cells of creatures and other transgenics like me. And what not. The guards stop walking, unlocked a door of one of the cells, push me in, then they leave. I got up when they slammed the door shut then I saw a guy standing right before my eyes. I looked at him and noticed some formula look in his eyes I seen before.
Alba: Ben?
There in front of me stood my brother Ben that I haven't seen since I was about nine years old. Ben looked at me and smiled when he finally noticed who I was then he walked over to me and gave me a hug.
End Of Flash Back
Alba: (Voiceover) I was so happy to see my brother Ben again. The weirdest part about seeing him again was when we were being separated again.
Flash Back
Ben stood in front of me after telling his plain on how he was gonna get him and me outta there. I stared at him in confusion then he did something to me I wasn't expecting. He kissed me. Ben kissed me with a passionate kiss then I found myself kissing him back. When I kissed him back it almost seemed like that kiss meant goodbye and I wasn't going to see him ever again.
End Of Flash Back
Alba: (Voiceover) I was wright. That kiss did mean goodbye forever. About a year later, I found out Ben was murdered in the woods. I always kept wondering to myself, "Who could have done it"? Now I find myself running and hiding. Pretending to be someone, I'm not. Trying to fit in with normal people by pretending to be normal myself. When I'm not. Now I have a fake identity of a female rock star named Avril. The thing is I wished I could've been born normal so I wouldn't have to hide who I am. But I can't. I'm just gonna have to except the fact that I'll never be normal. I guess that's just life.
