Summary: Logan tells Max that she has a sister, Alec finds Max's sister when he becomes her music instructor and he falls in love with her.

Spoilers: Life after season 2 with my added characters, Rachel Jefferson played by me.

(Crash)

(Night time)

(Alec walks into Crash with a plain look on his face. Max turns around and looks at Alec as he sits at the bar.)

Alec: Barkeeper!

Bartender: Yes?

Alec: I would like a beer, make it a bud.

(The bartender walks away then Max walks over to Alec and puts her hand on his shoulder.)

Max: Hey.

Alec: Hey. (Shrugs Max's hand off)

Max: What's up?

Alec: Nothing much.

Max: Are you sure?

Alec: Yeah.

Max: Look I know something's wrong.

Alec: What do you know?

Max: You need help with something.

Alec: I need help with nothing.

Max: Are you sure?

Alec: Yes.

(Alec turns around and walks out the door then he walks into the parking lot.)

(The Jefferson's House)

(Mr. Jefferson's daughter Rachel is practicing on the piano. Rachel stops playing when she notices a piece of paper stuck in her music book.)

Rachel: Daddy who's number is this?

Mr. Jefferson: I don't know. Why don't you call and find out.

Rachel: Ok I will.

Mr. Jefferson: Keep practicing. You're getting better.

Rachel: Ok daddy.

(Rachel dials the number in and plays the piano while she waits for someone to answer. Alec hesitates then he picks up the phone on the other end.)

Alec: Yo!

(No one answers all he hears is piano music playing. Rachel already forgot about the phone. The phone sat on top of the piano while she played.)

Alec: Hello? (Pulls the phone away from his ear)

(Alec freaks out and throws his phone then he falls to his knees and covers his ears then he has a series of flashbacks.)

(First Flashback)

(Rachel and Alec are in a room alone then they kiss. After a moment Rachel breaks away and looks at Alec.)

Rachel: I love you.

(Second Flashback)

(Alec reaches the driveway just in time to see Berrisford's car explode into flames. He screams her name in horror.)

Alec: Rachel!

(Third Flashback)

(In another room Rachel lies unconscious in a bed. Monitoring equipment beeps. Alec sits next to the bed talking to her. A tear runs down his cheek.)

Alec: I should've tried harder Rachel. I should've fought them. I didn't understand. (Bows his head then raises it again) I didn't understand how much I loved you.

(Alec puts the locket into her hand and presses her hand to his forehead with his eyes closed. He hugs Rachel and buries his face in her shoulder then he sobs.)

(Last Flashback)

(In a cemetery Alec stands looking at Rachel's headstone. It reads:)

RACHEL BERRISFORD

BELOVED DAUGHTER

JAN. 15, 2002 - OCT. 21, 2020

(Mr. Berrisford steps up to the grave beside Alec.)

Mr. Berrisford: Don't come back here again.

(Present Day)

(Alec picks up his cell phone that is no longer playing the piano music on the other end of the line.)

Alec: Rachel.

(Logan's Apartment)

(Later that night)

(Max enters Logan's apartment dressed in black ready for whatever mission Logan gives her.)

Max: You beeped?

Logan: Yeah! I have some news for you.

Max: What is it?

Logan: Come with me. I'll show you.

Max: Show me what?

Logan: I found some files on my computer that involve you.

Max: What do you mean?

(Logan goes on his computer and brings up files on a girl named Rachel Jefferson.)

Max: What's this about?

Logan: Its something I think you should know.

(Max looks at the computer and a page comes up on the girl Rachel Jefferson. That reads:)

Name: Rachel Marie Jefferson

Age: 18

Born: July 5, 2002

Father: Jack Jefferson

Mother: Maria Guevara

Siblings Sister: Max Guevara

Lives in a big house with her father, mother died when she was twelve, sister missing. Won the musician contest playing the "Peanuts" theme on the piano in 2019.

(Max smiles after she finishes reading the information then she looks at Logan.)

Logan: What?

Max: Isn't there a photo?

Logan: No. There's no photo available right now. They're still working on it.

Max: Oh.

Logan: Don't worry. I'll inform you when one comes up.

Max: Thanks Logan.

Logan: No problem.

(Max leaves Logan's apartment and heads towards Alec's house.)

(Alec's Apartment)

(Alec starts to have a dream about Rachel. Rachels wearing a dress and Alec's wearing a suit and glasses like when he was pretending to be Simon Lehane.)

Alec: (In dream) Rachel?

Rachel: (Smiles) Hi Simon.

Alec: Rachel? I thought you were dead.

Rachel: No but, your gonna be.

Alec: What?

(Rachel pulls out a gun and shoots at Alec. Alec wakes up all sweaty then his cell phone rings.)

Alec: Hello?

(No one answers it, there's just piano music playing again but this time it's the Peanuts theme.)

Alec: Hello?

(Flashback)

(Alecs running out of the house after Rachel then Alec reaches the driveway just in time to see Berrisford's car explode into flames. He screams her name in horror.)

Alec: Rachel!

(Present Day)

(The phone goes blank then he hears a knock at his door.)

Alec: Hold on. I'm coming.

(Alec answers the door and no ones there. Before he goes back inside he spots a note on the floor.)

Alec: Who left this?

(Alec picks up the note and goes back inside then he opens it. It reads:)

Dear Sir or Madam: I'm sorry I've been calling you. It probably bothered you that I called. The thing is I found your number in my music book when I was playing the piano and I was curious to know whose number it was.

Thank you, Rachel

(Alec puts down the note and looks towards the door and wonders. Is Rachel still alive?)

(The Jefferson's House)

(Rachel walks through the door and her father comes out of his room carrying a bat.)

Rachel: Daddy it's me!

Mr. Jefferson: Rachel?

Rachel: Who do you think I was?

Mr. Jefferson: I don't know. You could have been a robber or something.

Rachel: I'm not.

Mr. Jefferson: I'm glad. Wait a minute! What were you doing out at this time of night?

Rachel: I...I was delivering something.

Mr. Jefferson: Delivering what?

Rachel: A note.

Mr. Jefferson: Ok? Lets just go to bed. We'll talk about it in the morning.

Rachel: Ok daddy.

(Mr. Jefferson goes back to bed then Rachel shuts off the light and goes to bed too.)

(In Rachel's room she's looking at a photo Mr. Berrisford gave her when they bought the house from him. Rachel smiles at the picture of Alec then she remembers the phone number she found.)

Rachel: I think that was Simon's number.

(Jam Pony)

(The next day)

(Max and Alec walk into each other carrying papers of information.)

Max: Alec?

Alec: Hi Max!

Max: I have to show you something.

Alec: So do I.

Max: Ok. You first.

Alec: Ok. I have two letters a girl sent me.

Max: Big deal.

Alec: Whatever. Anyway the first letter says...

Thank you, Rachel

Max: Rachel?

Alec: Yeah. Anyway I found the second letter this morning in front of my door and it says...

Dear Simon, I found out that you're the one I sent my last letter to. I learned about you when my dad and me first moved to our house. The guy that owned it before us gave me a picture of you and said to stay away from you.

Sincerely, Rachel

P.S. I really hope I get to meet you. Maybe you can give me some piano lessons.

Max: She thinks your name's Simon?

Alec: Yeah. Well, yeah.

Max: Ok. Do you wanna know mine?

Alec: Oh yeah! Sorry I forgot.

Max: Ok here. (Hands the paper to Alec)

(Alec takes the paper and starts to read it. It says:)

Name: Rachel Marie Jefferson

Age: 18

Born: July 5, 2002

Father: Jack Jefferson

Alec: Wait a minute!

Max: What?

Alec: Someone called me last night. They were playing the Peanuts theme on the piano.

Max: Really?

Alec: Yeah! It's really weird.

Max: I think we should go check things out.

Alec: In the middle of work? Come on Max!

Max: Fine! After work.

Alec: That's better. Let's go.

(Max and Alec both grab a package from Normal and leave. Original Cindy and Sketchy head out after them.)

(The Jefferson's House)

(Rachel's playing the piano then her father walks into the room smiling.)

Mr. Jefferson: How's it going honey?

Rachel: Good daddy.

Mr. Jefferson: That's good. I have a surprise for you.

Rachel: What is it?

Mr. Jefferson: I'm having someone come over to give you some piano lessons.

Rachel: Daddy that's great! Who is it?

Mr. Jefferson: Their coming over this afternoon.

Rachel: Who is it?

Mr. Jefferson: I don't know. He just said he's coming over this afternoon.

Rachel: Ok. I guess I can wait.

Mr. Jefferson: That's my girl.

Rachel: I'll always be your girl.

Mr. Jefferson: I'm glad (Kisses Rachel's head)

(Outside Store)

(After Max and Alec deliver their packages they stop at a little store to grab a bag of chips.)

Max: We should head back to work.

Alec: Ok. I'll meet you there.

Max: Where are you going?

Alec: I just have to go pickup something.

Max: Oh. I guess I'll see you later.

Alec: Later! (Riding away) Much.

(Max goes back to the Jam Pony and Alec goes to his house to do something.)

(The Jefferson's House)

(Later that afternoon)

(Rachels still playing the piano then she hears a knock at the door.)

Rachel: Coming.

(Rachel opens the door and smiles when she sees Alec wearing a suit and glasses.)

Rachel: Simon! Come in.

(Alec walks in and looks at Rachel as she turns around then she extends her hand.)

Rachel: I'm Rachel.

Alec: (Kisses her hand) Charmed I'm sure.

Rachel: (Giggles) So, what took you so long?

Alec: Uh, I was busy.

Rachel: Oh.

Alec: Well we should get started.

Rachel: Ok!

(Rachel plays the piano as Alec watches. An hour later she stops playing then she looks at Alec.)

Rachel: How was that?

Alec: Good, good.

Rachel: I'm tired. Why don't we take a break?

Alec: Ok! What do you wanna do?

Rachel: I thought we could go for a swim. Care to join me?

Alec: (Smiles) Sure.

(Rachel smiles then she grabs Alec's hand and leads him to the indoor pool.)

Alec: You have a big pool.

Rachel: (Removing shirt) Yeah. I know.

Alec: Yeah! I mean...

(Alec watches Rachel remove her shirt then he smiles. Rachel gets into the pool wearing only her shorts and a top of a bathing suit.)

Rachel: (Giggles) Well, are you gonna join me?

Alec: (Spacing out) Huh? Yeah!

(Alec removes his glasses, shirt, and pants then he gets into the pool wearing only his boxers.)

Rachel: Simon your funny.

Alec: Really?

Rachel: Yeah.

Alec: Your pretty.

Rachel: Thank you.

Alec: Your welc... (Rachel kisses him before he even gets to finish talking.)

(Rachel moves back and smiles at him then he smiles back.)

(Jam Pony)

(Everyone's getting mad because they have to work harder because Alec didn't come back to work.)

Original Cindy: Where's Alec?

Max: I don't know. But I think I have an idea.

(Max grabs a package from Normal then she heads towards the house that it's addressed to. When Max gets to the house she gets off her bike and walks towards the door. She stops and sees Alec's bike hiding in the bushes.)

Max: I knew it.

(Max knocks on the door and a girl wearing a robe answers it.)

Rachel: Hi!

Max: Hi. Did someone order a package?

Rachel: Yeah! My dad.

Max: We need your dad to sign here.

Rachel: He's busy. I'll sign for him.

(Rachel takes the board and signs her name then she hands it back to Max. Max hands the package to Rachel then she goes back inside.)

Max: She was nice.

(Max goes to put the clipboard in her bag then she notices the signature the girl gave her.)

Max: Rachel Jefferson?

(Max throws the clipboard in her bag then she runs up to the door and goes inside.)

Alec: I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere.

Rachel: I won't.

(Alec leaves to go get something then Max tackles him from behind. Alec hits the floor hard and tries to getup.)

Alec: What the!

Max: What are you doing here?

Alec: I'm just...

Rachel: Simon I'm coming to get you.

Max: Simon huh?

Alec: What?

Max: Tell her the truth.

Alec: You do it. She's your sister.

Max: How do you know?

Alec: I figured it out when she kissed me.

Max: She kissed you?

Alec: Yep.

Rachel: Simon I'm going to wait for you at the piano.

Alec: Ok. I'll be right there.

Max: (Alec gets up to leave) Where are you going?

Alec: I'm going to get dressed. I have some attending to do.

Max: You have to tell her the truth.

Alec: I will, I will.

(Alec walks away and goes to get dressed. After Alec gets dressed he goes to the piano where Rachel's waiting for him.)

Rachel: I've been waiting for you.

Alec: I'm sorry. I was doing something.

Rachel: That's ok.

(Max watches from the staircase as Rachel plays the piano.)

Rachel: Is this good?

Alec: Yeah, yeah.

(Rachel continues to play while Alec paced back and forth across the floor. Max smiles as she watches then she leaves. Awhile later Rachel stops playing then she looks at Alec and smiles.)

Alec: (Putting on jacket) I better get going.

Rachel: You're coming back tomorrow right?

Alec: (Rachel stands up) Of course.

Rachel: Good.

(Rachel shakes Alec's hand then he kisses her. Alec heads towards the door then he turns around and looks at Rachel.)

Alec: I have to tell you something tomorrow.

Rachel: What is it?

Alec: You'll see.

(Alec leaves and Rachel smiles. Max is outside waiting for Alec then she pops out of the bushes.)

Alec: Max! What do you want?

Max: You look ridiculous.

Alec: Did you wait for me to come outside so you could say I look ridiculous?

Max: Um, yeah. (Alec rolls his eyes)

(Alec gets on his bike and rides away with Max following him. Rachel looks out the window and sees Alec riding away on his bike.)

(Crash)

(Later that night)

(Max, Original Cindy, and Sketchy are sitting at a table talking to Max about what she saw today.)

Sketchy: Did you really see Alec with a girl?

Max: Yeah. My sister.

Original Cindy: You have a sister?

Max: Yeah!

Sketchy: Does she look like you?

Max: No.

Sketchy: Oh. That's a bummer. (Alec walks over)

Alec: Hi guys!

Original Cindy: Hey Boo!

Alec: So, Max how's it going?

Max: Ok.

Original Cindy: Sit down. Tell us all about this girl. Is she fine?

Alec: Yeah! She's fine all right.

Sketchy: What's she like?

Alec: She's nice. She plays the piano like an angel.

Sketchy: Piano?

Alec: Yeah! What do you think I was talking about?

Sketchy: Never mind.

Max: (Asha walks over) Hi Asha.

Alec: Huh?

Asha: So Alec are we still on for tomorrow night?

Alec: I can't.

Asha: Why not?

Alec: There's this girl.

Asha: A girl huh?

Alec: Yeah! I really like her.

Asha: I have to meet this girl.

Alec: You can't. She doesn't come to these kinda places.

Asha: Why? Is she too good for our kinda people?

Alec: She's rich.

Asha: Oh I see. You rather go out with her because she's rich and I'm not?

Alec: I'm her music instructor.

Asha: Music instructor?

Alec: Yep! She plays the piano.

Asha: The piano?

Sketchy: Like an angel.

Asha: How would you know?

Sketchy: Alec told me.

Asha: Fine Alec. You wanna play?

Alec: Play what?

Asha: The game.

Alec: Uh no.

Asha: Oh well.

(Asha storms off and walks by the bar where Rachel's standing then she stops.)

Rachel: Excuse me?

Bartender: Yes? May I help you?

Rachel: Have you seen this guy?

(Rachel shows the bartender a picture of Alec wearing a suit and glasses.)

Bartender: No sorry. (Walks away)

Asha: Hey?

Rachel: Yes?

Asha: You looking for someone?

Rachel: Yes actually.

Asha: Who? (Rachel hands her the picture)

Rachel: Have you seen him?

Asha: Yeah! He's over there. (Points to where Alec's sitting)

Rachel: Thank you.

Asha: (Rachel walks away) Your welcome. (Laughs)

(Alec gets out of his seat and walks right into Rachel who was standing behind him.)

Alec: Rachel?

Rachel: (Smiles) Hi Simon!

Alec: What are you doing here?

Rachel: I came to see you.

Sketchy: Hey! Come join us.

Alec: Yeah! Why don't you sit down with us? I'll introduce you to everyone.

Rachel: Ok.

(Rachel sits down with Alec and he smiles at her then he laughs.)

Sketchy: What's so funny?

Alec: (Stops laughing) Nothing.

Original Cindy: (Extending her hand to Rachel) Hey Boo! I'm Original Cindy.

Rachel: I'm Rachel.

Sketchy: I'm Sketchy.

Max: (Smiles) I'm Max.

Alec: And you already know me.

Rachel: Of course I do Sim...

Alec: Ok? Who wants a drink? (No one speaks)

Sketchy: So Rachel how long have you been going out with Alec?

Rachel: Alec? (Alec slouches down in his chair) Simon what's wrong?

Sketchy: Simon? I thought your name was Alec.

Rachel: What?

Alec: Rachel I need to talk to you.

Rachel: Ok.

Alec: Come with me. (Grabs Rachel's arm and pulls her away from the table)

Rachel: What do you need to talk with me about?

Alec: Rachel my real name is Alec. I'm not Simon Lehane. I became your music instructor to meet you.

Rachel: Why didn't you just tell me the truth?

Alec: I couldn't.

Rachel: Why not?

Alec: I couldn't because I thought you were somebody that your not.

(Rachel slaps Alec in the face and leaves while the others watch.)

Alec: Rachel!

(Max's Apartment)

(The next day)

(Rachels sitting with Max drinking coffee while the televisions on.)

Rachel: I thought he cared about me.

Max: He's probably just scared.

Rachel: You know him better than I do. Why don't you ask him?

Max: Ok I will. Just because you're my sister.

Rachel: (Hugs Max) Thank you.

(Crash)

(Later that night)

(Alec's standing in the parking lot walking around then Rachel walks up to him.)

Rachel: You wanted to see me?

Alec: I need to talk to you.

Rachel: About what?

Alec: Listen I'm sorry about what I said to you last night.

Rachel: Oh.

Alec: I hope you can forgive me.

Rachel: I forgive you.

Alec: Good. There's something else I have to tell you.

Rachel: (Smiles) What is it?

Alec: I love you.

Rachel: (Smile fades) What?

Alec: I love you. I hope you feel the same way.

Rachel: I don't know what to say.

Alec: I fell in love with you. Ever since the day I met you then you kissed me.

Rachel: I can't love you.

Alec: What? Why?

Rachel: I can't love somebody I don't know. I'm sorry

(Rachel walks away then a tear runs down Alec's cheek. While Rachel walks away a tear runs down her cheek also.)

(Space Needle)

(Alecs sitting alone then his voiceover starts.)

Alec: I fell in love again. It hurts me that Rachel didn't love me back. She told me she couldn't love someone she doesn't know. I don't blame her. I wish I never did what I did to her. Maybe there's a way I can change it. Like nothing happened. The thing is it happened and I can't do anything about it.

(Alec sits there and thinks about Rachel then another tear runs down his cheek.)
