Seminar format can include any or all of the following subjects: 1. Project
Critical Path This is an explanation of the 'standard'
optimal and alternate paths that a project needs to follow, from the original
Idea to the ultimate International Distribution of the film. It includes all
stages the project will go through, the type of players involved and the type
of deals possible. 2. Standard
Revenue Distribution A
graphic (utilizing pie charts) model to illustrate the distribution of revenue
from Box Office to Producer's Net Revenue (for Theatrical), from Wholesale to
Producers Share (for Video) and from TV License Fees to Producer's Share (for
PTV and FTV). These graphic model illustrates, using 'standard' deal terms, and
presents at-a-glance all distributions of revenue to include Rental Revenue,
Distributors Fees, Manufacturing and Distribution Costs, Prints and Ads,
Marketing, Publicity, Royalties, Production and Development Costs, Talent
Participation's and Overhead, ending with Investor's Return on Investment. 3. Ultimate
Revenue Forecast An
explanation of the deal terms, strategies, procedures and revenue distributions
in a territory by territory, media by media basis and the process to forecast
revenue. Also the use of this model to support Producer's decision making in
all types of deals, like Investments, Co-Production, Deferred, Equity and
Distribution Deals as well as Talent Participation Deals. It is illustrated
using the Ultimate Revenue Forecast model developed by Alex Mendoza for more
than 17 years. He began developing this model since he started working as an
independent producer in 1985, further developing it while he worked at Vestron,
Live (now Artisan) and Morgan Creek. 4. Corporate
Business Plan An
explanation in accounting and financing terms of the strategies and procedures
to follow to create a multi-film slate company, maximizing positive cash flow
and ROI. This is illustrated using the Corporate Estimated Financial Statements
model, developed by Alex Mendoza & Associates, which draws information from
the Ultimate Revenue Forecast model for each of the films in a slate and
considers all corporate overhead. 5. Contract
and Windows Management An
overview of the procedures and strategies to follow to maximize the Revenue of
a slate of films as well as to keep a positive handle in the myriad of rights
available for exploitation. 6. State
of the Business, Independent Financing and Marketing Strategies An
overview of the current State of the Business, Financing Sources, Players and
Marketing Strategies that any Producer needs to be aware to effectively produce
and distribute entertainment programming. AM&A
will provide reference materials, charts and sample documentation in order to
facilitate your understanding and comprehension of the exposed concepts. The
intention of these Seminars is to give a birds-eye-view of the procedures and
strategies your company and any producer, will need to address in order to
