Alfredo Villanueva-Collado. Oct. 16,1944. Professor of English at Hostos Community College CUNY, New York. My areas: Latin American Gender Studies, with particular emphasis on the constitution of the male subject in Latin American narrative, Modernismo (Silva). Published scholar and poet (search Google). An unabashed and unrepentant Liberal in this age of pseudo-Christian Republicans, I am not afraid of identifying fascist thought whenever I spot it. My Interests
I am interested in anything that will promote horizontal relationships and abolish hierarchies. I like movies; opera; art glass; science fiction; traveling to Chile, Spain, the Dominican Republic. I believe in form and function over decoration, which means I stay away from overrated Viennese designers whom bored Park Avenue matrons adore for their plaster putties and overdecorated silverware, but admire Dresser, Crane, Morris, Hoffman and Moser.
