Just Who Am I?

I'm Adele M Canup, (until just recently, I was a MILONE) living happily with my husband, Bill, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Here we enjoy magnificent skies with brilliant sunshine nearly every day of the year. We relish the clear, crisp air of the semi-arid Southwest with its 7000 feet altitude. I do miss the bright greens of the Maryland suburbs where we both lived for many years, but this is "The Land of Enchantment" in every respect. Truly God's majesty is evident everywhere from the Sangre de Christo mountains to the east, the Jemez to the west, and the Sandias to the south.

What I Like To Do...

I spend a lot of time outdoors, preparing flower beds for planting, buying and planting flowers, and tending them. We do lots of walking here -- the historic Plaza is less than a mile away from our home. Summer brings the Opera Season, and Bill and I try to get in all five offerings each year. Our opera house is located in the hillside a few miles outside of town. It's stage and sides are open air so we get to observe the most beautiful "star shows" on the stage and off. Lightening displays are often numerous, since summer is our "monsoonal period." That really means rain near every afternoon or evening for 10 minutes to an hour.

Most weekends begin with Friday night art openings, meeting the artists in the galleries around town, and sharing hors d'ouevres and wine with them and others who come to enjoy the Santa Fe art scene. Saturdays often start out with visiting the huge Tesuque Pueblo Flea Market, or the Santa Fe Farmer's Market, and sometimes both. We conclude with some of the many activities -- cultural, spiritual, artistic -- for which Santa Fe is noted. Sundays always begin with worship service in thanks for our beautiful life together, followed by brunch/breakfast, and rides into the mountain countryside.

Online Time

I most enjoy conversing with my family and friends online, keeping up with them in the different parts of the country they now reside.
