AMVETS of Louisiana honoring our Veterans

January 22 AMVETS State Executive Committee Convention

AMVETS is a National Veterans' Organization that provides assistance, counseling, representation, and social outlets for former military personnel. In the three links at the bottom of this page, you can click into multiple pages of photographs of typical AMVETS' functions in Louisiana.
The AMVETS's State Executive Committee convention was held in Slidell at the Ramada Inn in from Friday, January 21 through Sunday January 23. Above, you'll see AMVETS guiding force, Bob Martin, from Gretna, chairing the meeting. Since this meeting, Bob's recently had heart surgery, so we all wish him well and hope he'll soon be with us again.
This site is maintained informally by David Band, apparently the (former) AMVETS representative on the Louisiana Veterans Affairs Commission. Any attendees who would like to see their names under the photos may give the Webmaster a call or better still - e-mail - with a list of the subjects of these pictures, the site can be updated with annotations to the pictures, and perhaps a regular update to keep the page current. Anyone in AMVETS is welcome to now take over and the continue the site, and add their own input. Simply call me, David Band, in New Orleans at 504-822-2263 and I'll incorporate your suggestions and help.

A Web site is the perfect way to share photos, images, ideas, of an event or a club. David Band, Veterans Affairs Commissioner appointed by the Governor to represent AMVETS on the Louisiana State Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Affairs Commission, has attempted to provide an internet location for members to view their friends at various functions. Please feel free to e-mail me and make suggestions. This is the first AMVETS site in Louisiana, to my knowlege. Hope you enjoy.
