Some examples: They may have supplied food, clothing, money, nursing, shelter, or weapons. If you have an ancestor that was living during this the period approximately 1775-1783, their service to our country’s independence may already be listed in either the DAR or SAR application files or listed in both!  Keep in mind, they may even have been very young or very old when they served.
