This page is dedicated to other parents who have children with disabilities, handicaps
or just a hard time dealing with others who don't understand.
Most children are special in one way or another; however, your child may be extra special because of a difference of some kind. Though most people will tell you that they couldn't handle the load you bare or "I don't know how you do it," when referring to your bundle of joy, but they will never understand unless they go through it themselves.
I hate the term "disabled" because it implies that your child can't do something because of a physical difference. This is simply not so! Both you and I know what your child can and can't do. To say that he or she "can't" do something, well, neither can another child do something your child CAN do. Have you felt this way or am I sounding completely foolish? I have created this page for people who need answers.
People like us have gone through nightmares in the daytime as well as at night. We have seen the prescious treasures God has blessed us with go through changes that wouldn't be wished on anyone. To explain, my daughter, now 15, has Tourette's Syndrome. That is a neurological disorder caused by an over flow of special (natural) chemicals in her system that cause her to twitch involuntarily or mermer something without meaning (or sometimes noticing) to. She takes a mariad of medicines to help her through her day. Some parents won't put their child on medication and that's ok, but mine needs to take medication to help her function through a confusing over-stimulating world.
I hope to put any type of information on this page that will help parents with blessed children like this who need information that may not be provided by their child's school or doctors. I promise to update it regularly.
