Antique Optics Binoculars

Binoculars were invented in the late 1800s. They use prisms to increase field of view without increasing the focal length. Many types were manufactured and used in the Spanish-American war, World War I, and World War II.

Tri-lux binoculars


BIN001: Made in Berlin by Busch, these are an early attempt at prismatic glasses. Circa 1894. This brand was used by the US Navy in the Spanish-American war and WWI. Original case. $225

Zeiss patent binoculars


BIN002: Made by Bausch & Lomb in Rochester, NY under a Zeiss patent, pre-WWI. The use of a center-focus wheel makes them a civilian pattern. Clear optics. $150

Huet 1915 twin telescopes


BIN003: Twin telescopes with prisms. Gutta-percha eyepieces. Beautifully-made French binoculars. Original case. $225

BIN004: Standard Baush & Lomb 7x50s, WWI. Replacement rubber eyepieces. Optically clear. $100.

BIN005: Very unusual Zeiss glasses with Japanese markings and rain covers. Original case and strap. $235
