    2005 TRACTOR PULLING RULES

ADMINISTRATIVE RULES

1.    Dues are $20 per year per family membership and memberships will run from April 1 to March 31.
2.    President/Treasurer may spend only those moneys available in the treasury.
3.    A brief summary of financial activity will appear in each newsletter.


TRACTOR RULES

1.    Tractor may be made from car or light truck components (not greater than 1 ½ tons). Cab and chassis may not be newer than 1942. Ford flathead V8 and Chevrolet 235 straight 6 engines up to 1953 are allowed. All other engines can not be newer than 1942. Industrial or agricultural (John Deere, Allis Chalmers, etc.) components are not allowed.
2.    Tractor must have a fixed drawbar attached to the main frame and must have a clevis attached to the drawbar. The maximum height of the hitch point (clevis) is 24 inches and it must be behind the rear axle. The maximum distance of the hitch point from the center of the rear differential (axle) is 4 feet.
3.    Tractor must be equipped with a working and updated ABC fire extinguisher.
4.    There must be a firewall between the engine and the operator of the tractor.
5.    Fuel tank must be secured (but not with bungee cords) and must not endanger driver. Non-stock fuel tanks must not exceed 15 gallon capacity.
6.    Battery must be secured.
7.    The floorboard area must cover any moving parts.
8.    No added weight is allowed. If front bumper is present it must be stock or weigh no more than a stock bumper. Weights, brush guards, chains, cranes, winches, masts, booms, double frames, plow frames, rear springs and hydraulic pistons are not allowed. All are considered extra weight.
9.    Tractors are limited to 2 wheel drive and single wheels (no duel wheels).
10.    Locked rear ends are not allowed.
11.    Loose doors, windows, hoods, etc. must be secured.
12.    Exhaust pipe must end outside the frame.
13.    Center hub to center hub may not exceed eight feet.
14.    At least one foot operated brake must be functioning.
15.    Tractor (industrial or agricultural) tires and lug tires are not allowed. Tires must be DOT approved and rear tires must not exceed 12 inches in width.
16.    Tractor owner/driver must abide by Technical Committee. Technical Committee decisions are final.
17.    Permanent numbers will be assigned to each tractor.

PULLING AREA RULES:

1.    Alcohol and/or drugs are not permitted in the pulling or pit areas. Pullers who are found to be using alcohol or drugs will be immediately disqualified and dismissed for the rest of the event.
2.    There will be no more than one person on a tractor at any time in the pulling area.
3.    Spectators are not allowed in the pulling area while pulls are being conducted.
4.    Tractors that break down in the pulling area will be allowed 5 minutes to make repairs. After that time the last pull will be recorded and the tractor will be removed to the pit area. The tractor may finish the pull at the end of the weight class.
5.    The longer of two pulls is qualified.
6.    Drivers under the age of 16 must have a notarized authorization from parent or legal guardian and it must be renewed annually.
7.    There will be no change in drivers unless sickness or emergency of reasonable circumstances occurs.
8.    There will be no change in the pulling area once the pull begins.
9.    The standard pulling area will be 20 feet.
10.    Two drivers of the same tractor will be allowed for a pulling event. They will be designated as ‘A’ and ‘B’.
11.    Pullers arriving after the 9:45am drivers meeting will be allowed to pull for demonstration only.
12.    Puller will notify the crew working the stone boat when he/she is ready to be hitched. Puller will put the tractor in neutral and remove hands from the steering wheel.
13.    No one under the age of 16 is allowed in the pulling area unless properly authorized.
14.    There will be a flag man in the pulling area with a red and a green flag .Pullers may not start until green flag is shown and must stop when red flag is shown.
15.    There will be no change to a tractor (tire pressure, oil, hitch, etc) during a weight class.
16.    Pulling order will be determined at each event.
