NEW NAME — NEW MISSION
In a history-making move, African-American tourism leaders and leaders of other ethnic groups have signed a proclamation pledging to work together on a tourism related economic agenda. Formerly known as the Greater New Orleans Black Tourism Network, the expanded organization is now the New Orleans Multicultural Tourism Network (NOMTN). At the ceremony at the House of Blues APAS chairman Lucy Chun joined Mayor Marc Morial, Councilman Jim Singleton, NOMTN board president Lloyd Dennis and New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation executive vice president Gary Esolen, to commit to promoting New Orleans in all its cultural diversity. Also representing APAS at the signing was Robert Grace, the newsletter editor.
In the weeks following the signing, the NOMTN board selected Lucy Chun to join them as a board member. This is a great opportunity for the Asian community to become more visible to the tourist market as well as to take advantage of the business-to-business networking opportunities that membership in NOMTN offers.

Travels of the President
Lucy Chun recently attended a luncheon sponsered by the World Trade Center. The Keynote speaker was Mr. Zurong Wu, China's Consul General in Houston. He spoke on doing business with China and China's economic conditions. Also attending the event were former Gov. Buddy Roemer, Julio Guichard of the City of New Orleans World Trade Center, and Tiffany Landry of the La. Department of Economic Development.
