COMPUTER APPLICATIONS CONSULTING CAPABILITIES STATEMENT

Applications Alternatives provides computer applications to the public and private sector.  We support all application system life cycle phases:  system conception, analysis, design, development, and documentation. Our staff is highly qualified in the applications area.

Our strength is communicating effectively with end users, understanding their needs,  and clearly and accurately defining their requirements, regardless of the difficulty of the situation. Technical areas of expertise include:

Conceptual -  We investigate whether a proposed applications development effort is worth pursuing.

Analysis and Design -  We interview the users and prepare feasibility documents, functional specifications, packaged design documents, and test plans.

Development -  We join existing applications software development teams to write, de-bug, and test computer programs from specifications.

Documentation -  When poor design and development practices result in undocumented code, we can review the code and develop specifications. In the process, we will evaluate the code and make recommendations or changes.

Re-Analysis/Design -  If the user is not happy with the system, we re-evaluate it and develop design modifications.

De-bugging -  If existing programs have bugs in them, we eliminate these bugs in a way that results in a better product.

Re-organizing -  If a project is in difficulty, we come in, talk to management, the customer, and staff.  We then identify problem areas and recommend the re-assigning and augmenting of existing staff.  We also re-establish project timelines and manage the project until completed. We interview and evaluate prospective computer personnel.

We have delivered systems in the following areas:
