Joy Nalewi was born to worn to a wealthy government family in the District of Columbia in August of 1979. Her father was the ambassador to Israel, and her mother was busy enjoying the society lifestyle. They never loved each other, but they simply kept up appearances. Joy always wanted more from her life: to get an education, see the world, and most of all, to not be like her self-absorbed and passionless mother. Her parents disagreed, wanting her to marry the son of one of the members of the Israeli Knesset, and live off his money and fame. They refused to pay for her college education. Through her intelligence and leadership, she earned a full scholarship to UVA. She studied law there, with a desire to go into government. She was always an idealist, though, and the corruption she saw in the bureaucracy repulsed her. Instead, after graduation, she went to Quantico, for FBI training. She was one of the top agents in the Bureau for three years. Then, one of her superiors asked her to aid him in covering up his embezzlement within their division. The idealist in her refused, and she blew the whistle. He was demoted, but still remained her superior. She was sent to Morada as a punishment assignment of sorts. They knew that as a young agent, she wanted to be where the action was, and they didn't expect it to be in Cape Marassas. She hasn't been filing reports, but the regard for her skills and dedication in the higher ranks of the agency has kept her job safe. Joy's profiling and tracking skills have helped her to become one of the top crime fighters in Cape Marassas. She progressed quickly to the top of her field, and retired to pursue her passion for New Age philosophy. Joy currently runs a shop selling incense, scented oils, candles, and philosophical tomes. |
