The Island of Morada as I see it.

Morgan LeFox

of

The only daughter of a proud, but slightly mouldering Creole family, Morgan was raised under strictest conditions to be used as a social commodity to improve her family's wealth and status. While she was provided every advantage, the early death of her mother left her with no truly loving presence save that of Mamma Loa, her nurse, and, unbeknownst to Morgan, the local Obeah woman.

At a "suitable" age, Morgan was married to Gabriel Devereaux, a very wealthy and much older man who was her father's choice. After a number of years of polite neglect, Morgan was shocked to discover some evidence that Gabriel was involved in a number of unsavory business deals. When he was found dead in the French Quarter apartment of his teenage mistress shortly thereafter, Morgan did not accept his "accidental" death, and began to investigate.

The shock of Garbriels' betrayal and her own father's need to preserve the family from scandal even at the cost of truth awakened Morgan's natural psychic abilities, and Mamma Loa helped her to expand these talents, Using these gifts and her own intelligence and crime-solving abilities, Morgan determined that Gabriel had been killed by his own nefarious partners.

Revealing this knowledge publicly would have endangered her own life, as well as cost her family great loss of reputation, so Mamma Loa sent her to study in Morada with her old friend, Madame Rosalie. Lost, alone, and betrayed, Morgan arrived on the island with a shattered heart, but a undefeatable spirit, determined to grow strong enough to overcome past hurts and prevent future.

Amazingly, she found not only the strength she sought, but also affection, warmth, and recently, true love. When a small place on Discovery Road became available, Morgan seized the opportunity to make her beloved island her permanent home.
