The Organization
J.A.Barkley Hose Co.No.1 Inc. was established in 1913. The corporation provides fire suppression,
rescue, and other emergency services to the territory it serves. Approximately 50 members volunteer
in various capacities. Our present firehouse was dedicated 9 Jan 2000.
A Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God
whenever flames may rage,
Give me strength to save some life,
whatever be it's age.
Help me embrace a little child
before it is too late
Or save an older person from the
horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert and hear the
weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently to put
the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor and
protect his property.
And if, according to my fate,
I am to lose my life,
Please bless with your protecting Hand
my children and my wife.
The Apparatus
ETA 211 - 6 Man Cab,1750 GPM pump, 1500 gallon water tank, 1500 ft. 5" large diameter hose (LDH)
ETA 212 - 1500 GPM pump, 2500 gallon water tank, 2000 ft. 5" LDH, Mack Tandem chassis
Engine 213 - 1500 GPM pump, 750 gallon water tank, 4X4, 50 gal.foam tank, positive pressure fan, 2000 ft. 5" LDH
Brush 214 - High Pressure pump, 163 Gallon tank, 4X4 Dodge truck with various grass and brush tools
Rescue 215 - Heavy Rescue with various rescue tools including rope rescue, air bags and the "Jaws of life".
Fire Training
Training held Saturdays and Mondays at 0830 and Tuesdays at 1930
